It occurs to me … what would happen if Germany took the Caucasus before it took Turkey? Would it still get the NO money since it controlled Caucasus before Turkey?
Not that it matters for the this game.
-
I think the rule says they would get the NO as long as they took Caucasus first, but they can never get it if they take Turkey first. If they take Causacus and they take Turkey later, Russia can’t destroy the oilfields because they are already in axis hands, so I would say they keep the NO.
-
Makes sense, but also makes a good workaround for Germany.

Accidentally taking Burma was extremely costly here. Not even a fighting chance now.
-
Yeah taking Burma was crappy, but Japan taking India on J5 was inevitable either way. Those UK forces would either die in Burma or in India.
I think we are seeing that with Neutral Blocks the game is very slanted toward an axis win. Being able to crush the middle east with impunity, together with a Japanese move on India to either take it outright or even just keep UK busy and out of the middle east is a combo that would be hard to beat for the allies. I don’t know how I would counter that. Maybe US goes 100% Atlantic? In this case, you beat me in two alpha 3 games hands down, but in this game with Neutral Blocks the axis seem to hold all the cards.
What do you think? Want to continue or call it? I would not consider this a loss on your part because the rules were on my side. Really unfair I would say.
-
I dunno what will happen. I can prevent Japan from taking Hawaii or NSW for awhile yet. But with all 3 Axis powers bearing down on the Middle East (assuming you take your Japanese forces there after Calcutta falls), you can probably evict me no matter what I do. Joining SZ98-SZ100 lets you threaten quite a lot of territories.
On the other hand, Russia is doing ok despite splitting my forces. I can probably take both Norway and Sweden. However, I don’t know if I can fight both of my southern fronts (incoming to the east into Ukraine and incoming north to the Caucasus).
-
OK let’s keep it going for a bit and see where it leads.

tweaking no problemo. I think I also forgot to place my 10 inf on Japan last turn. Perhaps you could be so kind as to place them?
Scramble 3 fighters in z6 please

I’ll add them. Though even without them I wasn’t thinking of sacking Tokyo anytime soon :-P
