True, I did not mean to say that one bad-luck battle increases your odds of a future good-luck battle. What I meant is that Global 1940 is a much bigger game than, say, Revised. Global has more units involved and more battles that matter. The effect of having more units and more battles is to soften the effect of any one unit missing or of any one battle going poorly. In other words, as you broaden your sample size, you get closer to achieving average results in the aggregate.

if i wanna play the alpha 3 rules and setup, do i have enough information with the rulebook and alpha 3 rule changes or do i need alpha 2,1 rules aswel?
if so where can i find them?

You don’t need the Alpha 1 or 2 rules, as the Alpha 3 rules completely replace them. However, the Pacific FAQ and Europe and Global Official Rules Clarifications will come in handy.

I would also suggest reading the whole Alpha 3 thread and maybe even the Alpha 2 thread at http://www.harrisgamedesign.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=6149 so you know why and how the rules came about. It would, I feel, answer some of the more basic questions on how the rules apply.
