I could have avoided that costly battle.

I think the best solution to this problem would be if you just did UK1 over.
You’ll be able to land 2 of the 3 planes on the carrier so it’s still viable to do the same attacks.
You are also free to buy the airbase although I don’t think it’s really in the budget. -
Did they remove the airbase in the A3 setup?
