G40 The Definitive S (Axis +6) vs Karl7 (Allies)

Planning for sometime today,

Got my monster G21 done yesterday in my nearly 2 year long game with Oysteilo. I wonder how many hours each of us have spent on that one so far, and it seems to have many rounds to go. Someone else might have to finish it for us some day.

We were breaking in a whole new map skin and sprites and were really disoriented for at least 3 rounds. Since we knew it was going to be chaotic, we just went ahead and threw in tech. Tech as in you can only get one per turn, costs 5, no tokens. You’d think we wouldn’t buy any, but hey we were playing for fun before it got serious.

Germany - super subs
USSR - war bonds + 1 per turn
Japan - radar (J20)
USA - heavy bombers

Yeah, that’s right, we each have 2, and no more than 1 per power. He rolled once for ANZAC when things were fast and loose early, but then we started to sense we had a monster epic on our hands.

It took me awhile, but I see what you mean as the G1, G3, G4, G5 North Sea dice are not grossly out of whack all put together.

After the 1% G3 result, I would have continued if the prize was $5,000

We re-set, and played just for fun. G4 was lucky with 0 planes lost instead of “supposed to be” 2, which set up G5 situation.

After the 1% G5 result, I would continue if the prize was $5,000, but I’m not going to grind out a just-for-fun game trying to win, and I think it might even be insulting to continue against a strong player after losing 6/7 of your luftwaffe early in the game in that situation, to say I will show you that I can still beat you

:) :) I only post this because I think it’s fun and mutually enjoyable to talk about the game and situations we all looked at. Hope I’m not wrong.

@leemorrison You’re being polite. Yes I got my bomber and some air shot down during the first two turns but I overextended very badly with Japan, mostly because I underestimated the value the tanks would give you in terms of exploiting openings in my positions.

@DoManMacgee Just to make sure you know, Classic has been added to the league (under play boardgames) so you can enjoy matching up with other Classic opponents to your heart’s content, supported by a community, moderator, league rules, and a rankings board
