if you do not scale at least 5 on this matrix I would decline the SL. I scored a 7 and was still at risk of losing UK the entire rest of the game.

Buying ships telegraphs the sea lion. save your money instead. Buy the entire stack as a surprise on the second turn and only if thing are favorable.

My guess is that this whole American fighters in Moscow thing, either going through the Atlantic or Pacific, is an alternative strategy that is non-optimal. Very possibly somewhat effective since you’ll be shaking up your opponent who isn’t used to it, but at the end of the day, non-optimal. But fun wins out over “perfect” play any day.

It sounds like a plausible curveball against someone who prefers to run a general script / perfect play to get them out of their comfort zone.

Nothing more rewarding than taking advantage of mistakes because someone had their strategy rattled.

is a NB in panama a worthy venture for US?
this way a fleet staged in sz64 (i think thats the #) can get to hawaii or sz91 off gib or to canada too

seems to leave the most options open for USA during early rounds, allowing for efficient redeployment of forces once axis intentions become a bit clearer

I have never done it myself, but i have seen it a few times…From my experience, it is more useful in later rounds than in early rounds, when you want to be able to retake immediately Haw while keeping Gib under pressure.

A little off topic but here it is  last nite ALPHA+2 and operation Barbarossa was successful. I fought hard as Russia but there was not enough help and Russia fell. I had two good counter offensives and two very good goal line stands,  not enough I need to figure out what to say to them to have try to help. other than “hey I could use some help here” or “there’s no way I can hold them back I need help”
  I hope Russia is a bit more resilient with the A3 set up
  The German turn 2 was when the attack started
  It was a good game and they had some outstanding dice 11 out of 13 hits and 8 out of 9 hits and I think they had one that was 12 out of 14.  The dice won the game for them
