Oh - I noticed something. In my first defense rolls, neither my Carrier nor my Cruisers hit. I have no destroyer, so you couldn’t have taken your sub as a hit. Your rolls afterwards are fine, but you need to remove yet another plane, as the sub has to survive the battle.
