Baring miracle dice for Ita that is.
-
Maybe. I will look close at what remains tomorrow. I will probably at least lose the Russian tanks.
A battle went my way finally :-) something to be happy about for me.

DM
Today after having some time to look over this battle, it looks like I got much of my bad luck in recent weeks erased. In the largest battle I have ever been involved in, I ended up with about 30-40 more infantry and artillery left than average. I will gladly accept this good luck.
I will go ahead and leave the losses as you did them and say the Soviets do nothing.
You can go ahead with Japan.
Cheers

It really couldn’t have gone much worse. Its weird too, cause it started out so good with only one ftr being downed. I had a real shot to clear almost all artillary with 12 ftrs + bom. I even could have retreated a few ftrs if the battle went really well.
The sad thing is, I didn’t even need avg dice, even a little below avg would have ment an easy clear for Ita even with UK max defense.
I really thought clearing all inf was a gimmie even if I had to finish the inf off with J ground units (maybe a few air). Now I have to consider sending in all my ftrs and boms. Ugh. It just gets ugly. Completely destroys my next round plans as well.
Next round I could have had Ita/Ger stationed in France then 22 ftrs + 8 boms overlooking the Atlantic.I really don’t think I can recover, its going to be ugly for me after J’s turn, but I’ll play though Italy. Unfortunately even great dice on Italy’s turn won’t help since to even give them I shot Jap has to sacrifice waaaay too much. I was prepared to try and rebuild Germany earning 70+ ipc under the protection of J air, but without that Europe becomes wide open.
Such a disappointing battle.

If and when you attack FRA again, please make sure not to proceed with a defense roll until you have my losses (in each and every round).

I want so much to talk about stategy right now, but I am going to remain silent until the game is over. There were so many interesting moments in this game, especially this one that is still going on - this decision of how you will proceed with Japan and Italy after the Germans got so badly beaten up. I’ll say this, the decision to attack France with Germany has set off a decision sting that is very unfavorable to the Axis. But you never know about my terrible dice, they could return at any instance.

Yeah, I have no real good options now as Japan. I really can’t afford to lose J’s air they were earmarked for Berlin post G assualt, but don’t think I can do enough damage to Fra on just ground units.
I’m still debating options, really not sure which I’ll go with right now.

Axis lead in ground + air units is down to 190 IPC :-o

Yeah lose all infantry.

Yeah, just lose the 9 infantry. I think staying and defending FRA is better than taking GER with the British.
