I want to point out something right here, right now. If you’re ever wondering which units you should flank with and which should be the main attack: the answer is always those units that hit at a higher value.
The percentage increase of the mech on the flank attack went from 30% to 43%
The percentage increase of the armor on the flank attack went from 50% to 71%That’s a 13% boost for the mech vs a 21% boost to the armor. Not all “flanks” are equal.
Flank with your harder hitting units.
I would agree. The interesting thing is that your chances of landing all hits doesn’t change depending on which units are flanking. (I realized this is because of the commutative property of multiplication).
However there is a large difference in your chances of completely whiffing. This tails off as you factor down for higher and higher percentage of units landing hits. So as expected you always want to use higher-chance units to flank.
For a simple experiment, if you make the G1 attack with just the mech, art, and 2 tanks:
Chance to completely miss (no flanking) 12.25% Mech & Art flanking 8.16% Tanks flanking 4.0% Chance for all 4 to hit (no flanking) 2.25% Mech & Art flanking 4.59% Tanks flanking 4.59%a3f41c9f-8293-43ac-a27a-bb572a6cc386-image.png
