@WindowWasher Good day. Japan needs the income from the DEI and need to keep India on the defensive, not expanding. I agree with Awk others here: Oz can wait. Make Japan a monster first.
I have played close to 100 1940 games and don’t think anyone has tried to take Sydney from me early on.
Try it, but I don’t think it would work against most players here.
What to do with Japan

If America’s going full in Pacific, you’re doomed anyway. May as well make life as easy for Germany as you can and slow the Americans with all your builds. It shouldn’t take TOO much to weaken Russia and allow the Germans to get 8 VCs…you just have to make it possible before round 12, otherwise, ti’s too late.

hm I think speed is the main point for any axis strategy.
In this case with the Major IC in Korea, should Germany attack Russia on Turn 1? Because normally I attack on turn 2 when I have my troops together on the eastern front. -
I think not, because a G1 attack is pretty much (read: basically always) a bad idea.
Whatever you manage to put into those first border territories will die immediately, Germany is making less money (no peace NO), Russia is making more money, Russia can go into the Middle East, and UK has no Sealion threat at all, and can plow into Italy and France starting round 1.
You’re right in that a G2 attack is a much better idea.
