That battle was insane. Pure moxie, and it paid off, but it could have been disastrous.
Ugh - I got to non-combat and realized I didn’t do a combat - I’ll roll it out, and if you feel it’s not ok for me to do out of order, I’ll ignore the results and put both of our pieces back.
I’m having another go at the Jap sub in SZ7 with a destroyer… sorry about this, but I was working from the first map, switched over to the newest one you sent, and completely forgot to do it…

Ok.
US places Naval Base on Midway/Carrier, Fighter, Transport, Destroyer on SZ101/Armor on E US/Destoyer, Transport, 2 Submarines SZ10.
US collects 54 + 25 NO = 79 IPCs.
China collects no IPCs this turn.
Britain is up.
-
I’ll do Britain and Anzac on one map, if you don’t mind. Anzac only has one battle.
I also forgot to amend US IPCs - which I will.
Britain purchases a Fighter, a Destroyer, a Mech Infantry, an Artillery, an AA Gun, 3 Infantry.
(Getting sloppy… US needs to pull back Carrier, 4 Destroyers to SZ80. A lot to remember here. No dice have been rolled…)
Britain, no combat. It freaks me out. Just repositioning, placement of units.
Iraq - Inf/Mech/AA Gun
Egypt - 2 Inf/Art
Britain - Fighter
SZ110 - DestroyerBritain collects… 36 - 4 CO = 32. Ouch - told you, I’m dropping back significantly.
Anzac purchases 2 Infantry, Artillery.
Combat (I’ll do three to maintain tension…)

Well, it would have been nice.
We’re at 54% you win, 46% I do as Italy approaches the end of Turn 13.
Anzac places and collects 10 IPCs. Italy is up!
-
Btw, I posted a query on the team game sight, looking for two players to take us on… keep an eye out for anyone interested. I said we’d play either Axis or Allies.
Man, I’m in a groove here, now… you’ve created a monster! I accepted an invitation to play from Sgt Pavlov… waiting for him to respond… Heather’s gonna kill me…
I really feel like I’m understanding the US, which is hugely important. Seeing a game that lasts deeper gives me a glimpse into their potential, if I had managed my fleets better. I think it is a game of patience, and not making mistakes. Not that sitting back will save Russia, but I mean methodically putting yourself into position to take steps forward and hold places. I’m getting less and less interested in the constant transport swap - I think it is a win for Japan in particular to play that style.
I’m really understanding the importance of fighters to the US. I’ll build at least one per round, probably for the rest of my life… I’ve come around to the Bodge way of thinking.

Steve, yes, I parked the three fighters in Gibraltar to protest both fleets, and blocked Germany with Britain so I could scramble into SZ92 and not need them for SZ91.
I also have a fighter on Britain, which could scramble into the British Channel if you made it tempting… I gave you the scenario a turn ago, based on number of pips/pieces you bring… it looks like you brought the automatic.
-
Protect, not protest!
