For that matter, Italy did not control Gibraltar at the start of it’s turn, England did! You cannot attack the SZ 91 fleet with the Italian submarine, the Strait of Gibraltar is closed.

Given no change to the Combat Moves, go ahead and scramble the British and French fighters. With luck, I’ll do better than my worst case scenario and actually inflict enough damage to keep England alive another round!
Also, don’t forget you have 2 fighters, 1 strategic bomber vs 1 undamaged battleship, 1 cruiser, 1 transport in SZ 91. So you’ll have to press the attack with 1 fighter, 1 strategic bomber vs 1 damaged battleship if you want to clear the sea zone.
Canals and straits must be friendly at the start of your round to use them. Also, all battles are simultanious, you cannot (for instance) attack East Poland and then blitz into N. Ukraine after taking control of E. Poland. Likewise, one cannot take Jordan and then during NCM move from the Red Sea into the Med. Sea since it was not friendly at the start of your round. (However, if England takes the canal, Australia may move through it since it was friendly at the start of Australia’s turn.)

Keep in mind, if Germany attacks SZ 115 (and I dunno with what you will attack other than a Strategic Bomber and 2 Tactical Bombers and that doesn’t seem like a good attack) the 2 Fighters, Tactical Bomber from Novgorod will scramble to defend the fleet.
Also, you have to attack SZ 115 to attack Novgorod. There’s no side-stepping the battle, since the sea zone is considered hostile at the start of the conduct combat phase if you declare war on Russia. No free sniping of the Russians. ^_^
