I think the issue with this is there aren’t really a lot of “pitched battles” in the Revolution. I think this would need to be more on the lines of the AH “Battlecry” or DOW’s “Memoir '44” based on the commands and colors “engine.”

Maybe the producers are making political points ?

The 2nd URL link points out that the book is written in 1996, and the producers related their show to US presidential administrations that did not yet exist at publishing time.

In order to use World at war you will need the original or Pacific. I think the best game is a combination of Europe and Pacific on the World at War Map. Although I think Europe and Pacific did the oceans much better. Maybe I need to make my own map!
