Alpha +1 , alpha +2 setup

If you’re using 2nd edition, you don’t need anything from Alpha 3, as it’s all been incorporated into the 2nd edition.  Use the 2nd edition setups, which can be found here.

New National objective for Germany for controlling London

Yes I would indeed, sir. It should be possible for Germany to conquer London, but they should not be rewardet with a 10 IPC NO for doing it. Kind of like it should be possible to conquer Spain too, but nobody should get a 10 IPC NO for doing it. The German goal always was to move east. There they would find lots of oil, fame, rich fields of agriculture and slaves to do the boring jobs. Stuff that justifie a 10 IPC NO more than fog and savage Irish rebells, in the case of taking London.

We didn’t want to make stuff up since the stuff we’d make up would naturally benefit the person coming up with it!

Too many rule differences are confusing and has caused many arguments while playing.  That’s why we decided to stick to rules Larry came up with - OOB, A1 or A2.

My suggestion is to go ahead and use the Alpha with blue changes.  Our battle group just played a game of E40 this past Saturday and we used that setup and rules.  We did, however, change US NO #1 to read:

1. Collect 10 IPCs per turn for complete control of the continental US (CUS, EUS).

Yes France has to fall turn 1 because otherwise the UK can renforce it. That means more losses turn 2. Its also one less turn Germany has to deal with the UK before America and Russia get into it.

Its like asking “Would it be crazy to leave the UK with a fleet after turn 1?”

Thats also yes…might as well conceede the game at that point.
