Tactical Bombers in Alpha +2

Russian tanks are great if Germany decides to swing down towards the Middle East instead of a straight march to Moscow. They are not going prevent the stackwalk any better than artillery except perhaps if the calculations show that the extra firepower will slow down a critical step like Rostov or Belarus. Hence it could be good to build the tanks on turns 3 or 4, depending on the German DoW. No need for them on Round 1.

@marshmallowofwar but if there are fighters just sitting in Norway, they’re useless elsewhere.

The problem the bombers would be solving is the fighters sitting in Norway just picking up dust. The bombers could be in Moscow, Gibraltar, the UK, Norway, bombing any German production point and contributing to those 1 inf and 5 planes vs 1 inf battles.

The question is in my opinion: is the versatility that the bombers offer worth the cost of having fewer fighters to sit on complexes to intercept, protect carriers and sit on airbases, and secure US landings.

I did read somewhere a post or repost where Larry agreed with adding the Rus bomber to the G40 starting set after the 2nd edition was released. He was just concerned how the rest of the world would know about the bomber. Could anybody confirm this and/or post a link?

Any time you can go in period garb, do it for the looks. Also have some good answers to obvious questions. Im a mideival reenactor and its great to see the looks when your in costume. When they ask if your in a play or an actor and you say no we always dress like this. Or what do you do, ( carring a great sword or sword and sheild in armor) and we say were in the busines of hurting people

Low Luck, IMHO has the following detriments:

1)  Infantry, Fighter, Tactical kills defending Infantry 100% of the time with only 33% chance of losing your guy.  Means you no longer need to use 2 infantry to be relatively assured of getting the territory
2)  Naval battles are INSANE to calculate!  Then again, they always are.
3)  Picket lines tend to have significantly more units than in ADS. (1 Infantry in ADS ~ 3 Infantry, or 3 Infnatry, Armor in LL games to stop a break through)

Buy Euro & pacific games. download the Alpha+2 rules and objectives and set ups,  play both OOB and the Alpha+2 using the global rules for the OOB and the Alpha+2 rules for the other set up. I think you’ll see the diff.
  I think the Alpha+2 is a better game and I like it the way it is
