wittmann is right, the Italians can’t participate in the German attack so they are bystanders. By rule the German transport should endure one round of combat, then it can retreat if still alive (unless you are playing a friendly game and allow the German player to rethink his move based on the new info).

Waiting till J3 is a pain, but it allows me to get more into the battle.

you end up getting blocked though which is the problem. unless you move naval over the islands you are going to take and have the boats loaded on J2.

usa tends to get everything to queensland still even if you can sink it (tend to just block with a dd or two).

no real advantage money wise waiting for j3. you lose the 10 NO. to pick up 12-13 in islands and FIC. usually -7 or -11 for allies. so usa getting his NO for the other powers to be weaker is the tradeoff.

Yes, ever facility built has it’s own AA.

The attacker must choose which facility he is bombing FIRST, then the defender rolls.

Yes, once the DD is destroyed the planes can no longer hit the Subs so the battle would end.

And yes, since subs can never hit planes any sub hits go to fleet elements.

I guess this would form a partial exception to the “transports die last” rule.  For instance if two DDs, three fighters, and a transport attack 3 subs, and on the first round the subs get three hits, the transport would be sunk even though the fighters are still alive, since that third sub hit could only be resolved on a sea unit.

Because the 1st team lost their capital and IPCS
second team lost their capital and IPC but first team can’t have any IPC because they don’t have their capital

Would the power that captured the 1st teams capitl get their IPC?

See page 20 AAEurope 1940 second paragraph under the “Capturing and Liberating Capitals” section, last sentence: “You collect these IPCs even if your own capital is in enemy hands.”
