Spring 42 is pretty close to balanced.  0-3 to Allies would be the expected bid range.  Over at GTO, people play with preplaced Allied bids (from Russia 3 to UK6) but these extra units are not placed in critical locations, and are therefore less useful than a single infantry placed in Egypt or Karelia would be.

Well in all the games that have this thing, I’ve kept it, but never used it. One game anyways someone asked if I we could put all the pieces and chips under it, so I agreed, but I don’t know what it’s for?

I use it to put the pieces that were hit during a round of combat so I know that they get a shot back in defense. Once they get the defense shot then I remove them from play and put them back in the baggie.

good deal, that’s the way we played it, but the way the printing actually worked out overlapping it coulda helped the German defense of the Med, as would have that UK sz3 thing to protect Karelia.
