Transports/Amphib Assualt Rules Question

Something to remember about infantry units in 1941, they were able to shoot down aircraft. So with this in mind it is possible to shoot down enemy aircraft. I don’t agree with them being able to shoot down bombers, but some realism is lost to “game” play. Of course as players, you all can agree to modify your own rules so long as all agree.

Yes.

AA50 - Anniversary Edition
AAE40 and AAP40 - Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940 editions (if you have both you can combine them into Global 1940 - that’s the most complex version that you can get).

Submarines:  Can they attack other subs without a destroyer? It seems like that is not a legal attack.

You can attack them but since submarines can always submerge before any shots are fired if an enemy destroyer isn’t present the most likely result is that the defending sub will simply submerge to escape battle.

BlitzKrieg:  Ok say you (German Player) have a front of 10 tanks in West Russia with 20 inf.  Novosibirsk is unoccupied.  The russians have a sizable force on Russia (territory) to defend your attack.  So you send in 9 Tanks all your inf to attack.  You win (as the G’s).  Now can your 1 tank that hasn’t moved blitz through Russia (friendly zone now) and capture Novosibirsk as well?

I’m guessing that its not legal but we are trying to iron that out.

That move is illegal. You can only take enemy territories during the combat move and combat phases.

i was thinking about that if they kept interceptors at the IC then they couldn’t use them on attack runs against you also, but yes, I believe that they choose between the attack and the SBR for defense as well.  Should they choose to intercept the SBR and then loose the territory, they would have the one move point to find a safe landing zone, such as with carriers being sunk and fighters needing to land…

With Germany, I will be attacking the USA atl fleet first turn with a submarine.  I will be positioning my air force to ensure that the allies can not land in Europe or Africa the first turn (easy to do this time, since i will only need 1bomber and 3fighters in range to wipe out any first turn joint allied fleet that decides to move to africa).
With USA and UK, I will be buying shit tons of Fleet Defense, which will delay my landings by 1 full turn.  Russia is going to be in a tight squeeze because of this.

Russia and Japan will be played pretty much the same, except that russia can count on any support through africa being 1 turn late.
