If any planes survive Taranto, keep them flexible so they can fly to or near india within 1 turn
Try not to let China die buy time
Rebuild a small fleet in the Red sea it can also go both ways
Bide your time

Japan can’t blindly rush India without watching its back–it takes really skillful play to manage more than 1 factory and defend SZ 6. If 2 Japan CV go south, the US can overwhelm Japan. If Japan starts the war too early, or ramps too many factories, it cannot build against the USA

It’s creative use of the language. Maybe ABWorsham was initially in a frame of mind to attack the Eastern U.S sea zone, but then “reframed” from doing that and into doing something else.

While it can be expensive to send just air units against ground units, sometimes it is warranted.
In a recent game of 1942 2nd edition, Germany was really giving Russia a hard time and Russia was having trouble having enough troops and tanks to retake their own territories. The US and UK had built up sizable air forces so they took turns attacking the German infantry and tanks so on Russia’s turn, they could simply move in and take the territories thus improving their income.
While the US/UK did lose some expensive air units, it worked out very well as Russia was able to roll up a lot of territory and Germany just couldn’t produce enough to reverse the tide. Russian tanks would blitz 2 territories while Germany could only take the 2nd territory back in combat. Then here would come those dang Brit or American planes again.

Once Japans fleet is dead all america has to do is leave behind 20 subs or so, and convoy raid each one of Japans territories that can be convoy raided. Japan isn’t going to win in the pacific, and with the convoy raid Japan won’t be a super strong power. No need to take out Japan at this time. Send 100% toward the Europe board, and if Japan stars building a fleet again crush it. This is why you should have 20 subs off sea zone 6.

Maybe look at it this way, we were able to get the game 2 years before it was released.  Many addtional playtesters are tuning the game before it’s final release.

So I am getting a whole new updated copy once they’re done playtesting?  :roll:
