Hi ANZAC. For the HBG 1939 map, think of a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Its is HUGE and awesome. You need a big room for that size table plus room to walk around on all 4 sides. I only played the 1939 game one time and I can say it is definitely superior in a hundred different ways, but playing it is an order of magnitude more complex than global 1940. Global 1940 seems like the kiddie game next to it, which is nuts because global 1940 is not an easy game by any means. I’d say your best bet is to get the global 1940 if only for the pieces, and then blow the extra money for the 1939 map and elite pieces if and when you and your crew outgrow it. Another option is to play 1940 on this site with triplea.
Detailed Drawing of Global Map & Global Map with Alpha Plus Setup
-
I have made, (months ago) detailed Bit Map images of global, and another one showing the setup, currently updated with the Alpha Plus. The only difference between my images and the board is I made east and west line up which made Canada elongated so I put in a little more detail.
If this is something people might want to download, someone can tell me what to do to place the entire 6 Meg each bit map pics on here.

Nice work.
Did you use the same factory image for both the minor and the major complexes? Also its Henry Ford. Just one “E” :-D
-
Same image except white=major gray=minor.
Thanks for the typo error, been there for a year and I never caught it. -

“Onterio” would also need to be changed to “Ontario”.

Oi Nevva 'earn of “Karaklistan” neivver.
Nor Tangansika
Though Tim Guska empties my bins.
Rio de Ono sounds a really dodgy character, likewise Alexandera.
I once drank from a Tunesian well, but there’s only one Ukrain.

I’ve never heard of the 'Onyrt Marsh. Pripet or Pripyat is a different story.
And I think it is Alexandria, not Alexandera :?
And what are those small blue silhouettes of boats in the water?
edit: duh, convoy zones of course :-D

Thanks for the input, I’ll make the spelling changes to the main images. I guess proof reading is not my strong suit. But, I can’t even figure out where “Onyrt” came from.
