@chernobylime Aircraft are subject to defensive fire Just like ground units, so in your scenario the attacking aircraft fires, and then the defending infantry fire, regardless of there being any AAA present. The only unit that cannot fire back at aircraft is the submarine. As for Anti Aircraft Artillery, they only fire once before the conventional combat begins. AAA may fire one shot per attacking aircraft, up to a maximum of three shots.

So in the scenario you provide if the Germans attack the Russian territory with say 3 Planes and the Soviets have 3 Infanty and 1 AAA then the AAA will fire its three shots, the attacker removes any planes that are hit, and then the battle begins. AAA may be taken as casualties but do not fire again.

I got about 3 of those. I really prefer dice tray. Towers suck because you got a small space to see the dice and if you roll alot of dice, it takes more time to count hits.

The tray is much better because everyone can see the results from the table and usually people like to count hits by sweeping those dice to the side of the tray. The tower really has no such space.

I agree 100% I got a beautiful wooden dice tower from FMG (yes they have them), however, when the dice roll out some dice kick back under the drop shoot making them difficult to read. I brought this up to them last year and I believe someone at IWNGU (I will never grow up) was working on a design that releases the dice higher so when the dice kick back, there is a bank that the dice will bounce off of.

Yes, but that happens during the combat move. Once the non-combat move phase comes around, that particular tank can not move again. It has to wait until that player’s next turn.

another example of this in action is attacking an enemy sub.  He might (and probably will) submerge, but its up to the defender so the attacker needs to send enough hardware to the sz to win if the enemy defends.

There is no rule against flying over an enemy territory, no matter what’s in it.  It’s perfectly legal.
