I like your idea of reducing the UK NOs to just Malta for UKE, and just Malaya for UKP, however… just like Japan needs to side step their own NOs to take away UKP’s NO (Malaya), Italy should do the same around Malta, or get help from Germany.

Sorry, I miswrote my intent. I really like your two NOs as they were.
I was just emphasized the main interesting target from historical POV.

Anyone use War at Sea miniatures in the global game?

Unfortunately my friends don’t come over enough, so I end up just testing out different strategies. Right now I am trying really hard as Germany to bomb the living heck out of Britain. And it’s working: at the end of G2, ALL British facilities on the island (except for airbase Scotland) were gone. The whole Royal Navy was gone as well (but so was the Kriegsmarine). I figure with the bombing and the subs I’m throwing at Britain it’s almost better to just bomb them. Because I think I could even when the US came into the war. Russia is going to die, and I think Germany is going to do really well.

As for Italy, they’re in major trouble with Africa. On UKE1 I tried out taking Tobruk. I succeeded (albeit at the cost of not having my Med. AF available to pound the Italian Navy), which has thrown Italy on its heels. Also, I landed 1 loaded trans. from GB (with 2 inf.) and if it survived the U-boats G2, it would’ve grabbed Brazil.

Japan is probably going to crush India/China, but since Russia is under so much pressure to retreat they’ll probably leave each other alone and not trigger the Mongol infantry.

I say you just have to go with the dice.  Even if it is “game over”, there will always be another game.
I had a game a little while back where I, as Germany, was poised to take Moscow.  In my first attack, the Russians managed to put units on Bryansk which blocked the majority of my units to the south.  As a result, I barely matched the Russian defenders.  I had 1 fighter and 1 bomber that could reach Moscow and support the battle.  The Russian AA gun fires and gets a hit for BOTH planes!  I couldn’t believe the luck.  That battle was lost by the way and the Kremlin was saved.
Next round, I retook Bryansk and moved many more units up front, including planes.  I moved in on Moscow and this time had 10 planes (2 bombers, 5 tacs and 3 fighters).  With all of that to shoot at, the Russian AA gun didn’t get A SINGLE HIT.  I overwhelmed the defenders.  Moscow was captured, the Kremlin destroyed and Stalin was executed for War Crimes against the Fatherland.
What I’m getting at is that’s just the luck of the roll.  You have to just go with it.  I have defended with 3 submarines and gotten 3 hits.  I have also defended with fighters and gotten all 5s and 6s.  It’s frustrating but it’s still just a game.  Take the loss, lick your wounds and come back to conquer the next time.

Thanks for trying them out, and PLEASE help me correct the errors that you find!  Just post them here or on BGG and I’ll upload new versions as soon as they are fixed.

Also, I like the idea of adding in a sheet or two summarizing some of the rules changes to submarines, SBR, etc.  I plan on doing this.  Have any suggestions of things that should be covered, let me know.

Also, keep in mind the NO descriptions are meant to be reminders, not an exhaustive description.  They should be helpful but may not explain everything needed due to space constraints.  However, if you are finding any of them misleading then let me know.

EDIT:  Ok I did a check and found a couple major errors, my sincere apologies to anyone who printed these!  I have taken down the file and submitted a new one that I believe is 100% accurate, its waiting for approval.

I saw someone mention African units to London, I’m guessing that is for UK2.

Best I can figure, it could be this:

UK1
Cruiser, Transport from sz 98 and 2 land units from Egypt or Alexandra move to sz 92.
DD from sz 91 moves to sz94 to block Italian navy, as French fleet blocks in sz 93.
Carrier from sz 91 and tac move to sz 92 to protect fleet.
Fighter Alexandra moves to sz 92 to protect fleet: CV,CA,TT,Ftr,Tac.

UK2
Move transport, ftr, tac and land units from SZ 92 to London, if Germany did not clear them out…only possible if in N. Italy I suspect.
Result: 2 land units and 1 Fighter from Africa on London turn 2.

There may be options that permit the Italian fleet attack or that don’t pull the tac off of London for G2 assault.

I would not throw away Egypt this way or not activate Persia on UK1. But technically it delivers the units as suggested. If the Canadian fleet meets on the other side of Gibraltar, you could technically have a 4 unit take back force if London falls. Although taking it back, just gives the Germans a chance to loot your treasury twice when they retake.
