germany builds factory in romania. builds one sub in lake 100. unless russia builds factory then destroyer, sub is untouchable and stops one british NO–the sub rule. sz 100 is very very strategic
I’m assuming that you’re playing by the box rules, wwestpro. Techroll42 is correct - subs don’t block movement. For the effects of the “sneak attack”, see page 30 of the Rulebook under the Doesn’t Block Enemy Movement unit characteristic of submarines.
I love buying subs as germany. I think its the best cost efficient way to slow down US and put a stranglehold on UK economy. Having a lot of subs and weakening UKs economy will make the UK think twice about buying naval units. I find that attacking USSR on G2 has worked best for me. I will also buy at least 3 subs per turn and have at least 12 subs in the atlantic by the time the US comes over. The US cannot be stopped only delayed a round or two which will be huge.
Wait, wait, wait. Surprise strikes are before EVERY round in a sea battle? If so, I’ve been using subs wrong the whole time I’ve played Axis and Allies.
