Fun History test

Have people enter, and then get a board of top rated players to judge each player, from then creating pairs that are as fair as possible. They then create the brackets. Players would work in 2-man teams in 2 on 2 games. The winner continues on, the loser goes to the loser bracket, but if you lose in there, you are out. Then the top two losing teams face off to see who gets to see the winners champion. Then the winner and loser champions face each other to see who wins there. For playing different games: games like Bulge, D-Day, and Guadal are worth the lowest points for Ws and Ls, while 1940 and Anniversary are worth more points for both winners and losers. To prevent cheating, there will be a judge at each game who will officiate, but will not punish players if they screw up, but will disqualify them if they do things like roll the dice again, or pick their tech, etc.,intentional cheating like that in which there is evidence beyond a REASONABLE doubt. Everyone should have fun, as it is a double then play for fun elimination circut. If your are knocked out of the losing bracket, you then join the other pairs(1/4 of total players at first possible chance), and play for fun, not to advance, as you are knocked out of the tournament. Where and when will the convention be held because I will try to get there if it is in the US.

There was another topic in the 50th section where someone asked why Rommel was on the box and not Hitler.  This person pointed out that you saw faces like Churchill and Stalin (world leaders) not Montgomery or Eisenhower (country specific generals) for example.

The answer was that the game would not be legal to market in Germany with Hitler’s face.  I would imagine this would fall under the same school of thought.  Germany doesn’t deny that the war happened but they would like marginalize the bad PR that goes with it.

Both of those have quite a lot of primary sources in them.  Actual photocopies, and sometimes they are a bit hard to read since the handwritting back then is not what we are used to reading.

You may also feel free to read up on Kennecott Journey by William Cronon;  Iseminger’s “Culture and Environment in the Ameircas”; White’s “The Middle Ground” I’d focus on the first few chapters, but feel free to read the entire book if you want.

As for “Democracy in America” I just had a brain stumble and forgot the name of the author.  However, a brief search would have immediately gotten it for you, Alexis de Touqsville.  He’s kinda famous you know, and he very specifically states in numerous sections of his novel (which is a good read, but very long!) that women had universal sufferage even though they did not have the right to go vote if they were married.

In fact, my entire thesis on women being equal to men, in society if not genetically, is almost a carbon copy of his arguments.

After you finish all that, if you want more sources, let me know.  Just about anything written about history of the area (either Illinois itself or the United States) from non-biased sources before 1940 will reinforce my argument (and Mr. Toucquville’s.)

Gee, btw, all that took roughly 1 minute.  I’m surprised you couldn’t go find those sources yourself given the information I gave you (you know, the titles of the books and all.)

I still contend that FDR wouldn’t have waited for Japan to fall without a German DOW.  He would have gotten the Congress to declare war on both Japan and Germany (as Japan’s most powerful ally) then stripped Japan of that ally before defeating them.  It would have been the only way to save BritAIn (better F_alk?) from a successful, future German invasion.  He must have known the predicament Britain was in at that time because he was shuffling “volunteers” and weapons over as fast as he could to help them before the attack on Pearl.  Furthermore, we basically ignored the Japanese until Europe fell even after Pearl - the only excuse for this would be to save the Brits.

Could Germany have defeated Russia?  Yes, if the Brits and French had kept attempting appeasement instead of war, I think Germany could have successfully conquered the Russians, then turned on the French.

Yes i believe that can be argued as well with plausibility. After all this is speculative History!
OK i have two questions:

how much time would you expect a DOW from America to be made against Germany. What do you suppose Germany would be doing during the time before the DOW.

1)  I expect the DOW would be sent within that same year at least, probably before the second fiscal quarter.  Time was of the essense and FDR knew it.

2)  I really don’t have a clue.  If it were me I’d be setting up an invasion of England - but obviously Hitler wasn’t interested in doing that, he wanted them to surrender due to air assaults.  Being as that was the situation, I presume he’d continue is rocket attacks and bomber attacks while utilizing the majority of his ground pounders in Russia.
