Thank you for taking the time to explain.

The CP won the game for various reasons.

An inexperienced player was France+UK.
Russia made a mistake on its southern flank that allowed the ottomans to can open for the AustroHungarians.

The bonus units were probably too much, but it was very fun having a sub pop up for the axis once in a while and the implications it created for the allies.

Their usually guaranteed naval dominance was nibbled away at.
The more free units they got as the game went on, the more it became too much for the allies.

I may change the rule to a one time roll at the end of each CP turn with a chart like this:

Once per game you can roll on the special Centeral Powers Conscription chart

1. 2 infantry
2. Infantry + artillery
3. Infantry + fighter
4. Sub + infantry
5. Sub + artillery
6. Cruiser + infantry

They’re here.  We’re also experimenting with allowing the Central Powers to turn down the armistice, but that’s not entirely official yet.

I am all for any rule ideas that

A) return the US NO money to the contiental states, and not put conditions on it that include islands in the pacific.
B) a “game clock” mechanic that eventually makes the US an undefeatable monstrosity. So the Axis has to win before turn 20 or face an Atomic Superbeast.

My brother and I have played the game to death, are there any additional rules you can suggest?

Can I suggest you play OTHER players??  I think you may be in a rut if you are only playing the same opponent(s) over and over.  Online/PBEM is the way to go for the easiest way to play new players with different ‘perspectives’ on the game.

I agree, it’s amazing the different strategies from one experienced player to another. It’s like a totally different game when you play someone willing to take risks that your regular opponent won’t.

Welcome to Håkan from neutral Sweden.

Some people say that making house rules is like insulting the game designer. But in this case I know Larry is OK with it. At least he should be used to it by now. Butt, when that is said, make som house rules that really make a difference, god dammit. Make a rule that allow attacks on neutral Sweden.

THE REAL HOUSE RULE:

Sweden is a 3 IPC territory. Sweden is controlled by Germany at the start. Anyone may attack, strategig bombard, looting and plunder Sweden any time, just for fun.

I’m Canadian so I wouldn’t loot and plunder……  I truly believe that Axis and Allies is one of those rare games that just scream for creative house rules, it’s only natural to want to improve this game with you’re own ideas and thats what makes it so addictive.
