Wanted: Complete French Set and/or Italian Set

If there ever is a third edition I could see new French units for Europe and new US units in the PTO.

Great idea!�  I love it.�  That would definitely solve the question of how to introduce a new set of equipment pieces in Pacific to balance an upgraded French equipment set in Europe.

I would think its good to give extra guys and ipc’s to Italy. You can add a couple Italian tanks to start driving into Russia (maybe to can opener). You could also get them into the African fight if you can keep the Italian navy a float.

I will say I like to take Yugo w/Germany for a possible IC build if it looks like the Italian navy is going under. A few German subs in the Med (with German air) could help axis turn things right. Plus both Italy and Germany can build in the same sz. I know Greece gives you this option too, but it can be invaded to easy from sz 99.

Oztea, the French tanks at the start of the war were more modern and superior to thoses of the germans, both in numbers and individual strenght. The french tank divisions fought hard in the Dardennes but the German had significant air superiority, almost if not 3 to 1. It’s the massive Bf-109/Stuka attacks on tanks and artillery positions that spelled doom for France on top of the fact they got totally surprised by a clever manoeuvre. Air superiority would later spell the same doom for Rommels division and even the Japanese Imperial Navy. The point here: There is no valid reason to use ‘‘1930’s esque equipment’’ for France and it’s certainly not why they got beaten.

Which is why I’m hoping the starting setup for France will have at least two tanks. And here’s to hoping they’ll have at least the British tank model.

Good point…also mine…thats why i ask this question…lets wait…if japan doesn’t attack round 1 in global…maybe it will be the case…then the question is very interesting
