@Aaron_the_Warmonger I don’t know exactly the long term goal in Italian hands. The only conclusion I can come up with is to give Italy more of a northern Can Opening attack as well as give Italy more money for longer term play. Again, I find this foolish since it serves great use for Germany anyways. It’s been talked about, as said before, I’ve never seen it done and I have no plans to do it if I am ever Axis. I can see Bulgaria going Italian but not Finland.

I’m guessing you mean digitally ? So you can look at a picture instead of setting up the physical board ?

If so, triplea would probably be your best bet as the pics I’ve seen in the past are kinda hard to see detail unless you have multiple pics.

You can’t see the whole map in detail on triplea either, but probably more efficient.

Or do you mean like a print of the physical board ? Like a big poster or map you can roll out ?

I always treated starting money as separate from income in my head. In this game the rules states that you should use the “starting income list” to take starting money. If i remember correctly, there have been versions of axis where some powers have started with less money than their starting income.

No. He has to place them. Hopefully there’s more than that one IC to place them so they are not destroyed before his next turn. But he cannot “hold” them. They must be placed on the board. At least that’s how we’ve always played it.

Thanks for the reply, I was Japan the other night for the first time, I didn’t want to over pay myself, so I just collected after the fact, guess I didn’t need the extra cash for the take over, imagine how much faster the game would have been if I had the extra cash!

they are too expensive. i think at 11ipc they would still be purchased infrequently. even at 10ipc they would probably be bought at a 1:1:1 ratio with destroyers and subs.

My group and I play any territory in Europe so Finland and Sweden are possibilities even Ireland but the soviet union has never taken Ireland. The persian teritories are not in Europe so they don’t count. Technically turkey is not in europe that’s why I think it’s specified. So any territory in Europe plus Turkey. Hope this helps.

I still buy the odd battleship.

Besides… it’s not about when you buy battleships as much as it is about how you use the ones you start with.

And yes, 2 or 3, with a carrier mix are great,  I LOVE the Strafing Navy…  Carriers can’t do that aswell, because the fighters can’t land on them after for the retreat! And you can only scramble up to 3! :S
