Just think of what a rich country could do with all of the Tech.'s Rockets Heavy Bombers Paratroops Etc.
In the days when we used to play classic we would get bored and change things up, and one of the things we did was to make Tech.'s easier to obtain. One was to make it so at the end of your turn you would roll a six sided and what you rolled is what you got, each turn you would do that and on turn six you had every one. One of the other versions was to pay 5$ and roll and what you got was what you got, another variation was to have the free roll but you needed a six to break through to Technology
When certain counties got certain Tech.'s early then it was over fast, I think the new game is going to be no different with the results, it will just be slightly more complex
One of my favorites was to write on the backs of the territory markers the Tech like Rockets do that to 10 and then on another 10 put the next Tech. until each Tech. is represented 10 times. Put all those in a cup and at the end of your turn you draw one, when you get 3 like Tech.'s its yours. One other detail you can give one in exchange to your opponent once per turn. Pick yours that you want to get rid of and take one from any opponent, and you can trade freely with your side .
You cant share Tech.'s but you can make it easier for your side
Thats one I would like to see in the Books
Each country gets to draw once per turn
If ya want to change up the same old boring game try it

I haven’t seen much demand for these so right now I’m saying no. You know you could always purchase a set of the revised edition marshaling cards at historicalboardgames.com. The price is pretty reasonable.
-
would it be an inconvenience for you to send people your complete files by email, as in with all the different layers intact for others to play around with? or can you already seperate the layers with the current files?
-
The files are locked, can’t modify the layers. I have been working on my own, not as fancy as Bob’s, and I wouldn’t give the source files out. I can’t imagine the time he has spent on these, I think that is a pretty unreasonable request.

I do have a set of the cards from Revised and they work good especially for AA42. I was looking to add nation specific cards to use. I have a copy of the ones that you made for AAP40 and was waiting on using those until AAE40 was done so I could have a complete set of all of the nations.

i assume that means that we can edit the ones that we do have access to then? or is that still a violation of copyright?

Just ran into this detail in game.
Japan collects the 10 IPC NO as long as not at war with USA, has not invaded FIC, and has not made an unprovoked attack on UK/ANZ
In our game, Germany took England G3. Because this attack was imminent (12 G transports), UK and ANZ declared war on Japan during round 2 to grab NO money. Then on J3 when Japan attacked UK, I was thinking the NO was gone, but it’s not gone yet because the 3 conditions are met.
The NO on your chart (I think I printed my chart from this source - not entirely sure!) says “…cannot declare war on UK/ANZ” but this is misleading, because J can declare war on UK/ANZ if UK/ANZ declared on J first, and still collect the NO. I think it would be a major improvement if you edited the wording to include “unprovoked” or something to that same effect.

I do not recall releasing a chart which has the Alpha changed NOs. My chart does not include the +10 NO for japan not at war ect. Perhaps someone else modified my chart to add that NO. I do plan on creating an updated chart when Larry releases his official/final changes. Until then any chart other than the one listed in the link above was not sanctioned by me.
Hope that helps.

OK, yeah it must have been from somewhere else.

Bob,
After a year of change, Larry has placed a bookend on the Alpha project and the Alpha +3 rule set will become the 2nd edition for the game. I list this post at Larry’s site for your reading:

I hear ya Questioneer! Everyday I come to this site hoping to hear from Larry or see a final version, but everyday I am disappointed when all I see is more blah blah crap on the alpha 3 thread.I’m sorry folks… It seems that I may have left some unfinished business out there for some of you.
Things were pretty clear to me… On November 3 this Alpha effort was to be wrapped up, and so it was.
The Alpha 3 as officially posted is pretty much where this game is http://www.harrisgamedesign.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=6149. Now I’m working on getting a new set of rules published for the 2nd editions of AAPac40 and AAEur40. When I have some new information or something I think you should know – I’ll let you know.If you have a question or two or something you’d like to talk about let me know…
Larry
I look forward to the updates of your top flight Setup Charts.
Thanks for your efforts.

These charts are to good to let them die so easily, so I’m bringing this thread back in the hopes that Bob will update them. If he can,t be bothered, then I would be willing to tackle the project.
-
Any word yet on updated 2nd ed. setup charts?

Bob has told me that he’s too busy to update his creation, and he has denied me permission to do it… so I it looks like these charts will remain obsolete.
