The new setup flops everything on it’s head. You NEED to have a gameplan when you make your turn 1 buy. If you buy three transports there needs to be a reason, and not just you want to take everything. I have a plan I want to try out that involves 2 turns of all transport buys for a J3 attack, but I haven’t tried it yet
Has anyone tried a J1 invasion of Alaska?

Combat move the transports (2 inf and 2 tank) from japan to alaska, take it. Noncombat move all the fighters and tac bombers there and put up a Minor IC J2. Then take out all the units at PI J1 with airpower and “take” it J2.

You can’t non-combat airplanes to a territory you just took that turn. The Americans would counter-attack Alaska and take it back.
I’ve defended against an all-out “kill USA first” strategy. It doesn’t work. There are threads devoted to that topic on these boards that you can read.
Happy gaming!

hmm good point.

What would be an interesting game would be if Japan took US but ignored the other nations. Then Japan fighting UK, ANZAC, and China.

It is possible, but if the USA player knows what he’s doing, is maybe a 20-30% chance, tops.
