Colors for Minor Axis Allies and other nations.

I know there are other forums on this but I wanted to collect the best ideas here. What minor powers work best (balancing wise and being fun), preferably those without having to buy lots of extra pieces/ones that can use pieces from other games. But if one requires purchasing pieces and is really good feel free to add. Also not G40 specific but that tends to be the most common for minor powers. Thanks!

For me, it’s getting more historical accurate play of nations in WWII that actually fought. I find it very strange that Vichy France and Co-Belligerent Italy isn’t in the game, obviously it is hard to do this.

Sorry, the values are all 4 IPCs for National Objectives.  The NOs came from Argothair, but with some tweaks by our group (I think originally came from a different A&A version).  More money on the board makes the game a little more fun, but in theory it should last longer (which is not desirable), but I feel like we get to the climactic battles faster than we would with minuses…

I do feel like the board is still tilted for the Axis, but Russia having an extra 8 IPCs per turn is a bigger impact than Germany having an extra 8 IPCs.  We maybe could nerf the values down for the Axis, maybe.  I feel like the paratroop rules and the Russian fighter conversion support the Allies.  We’re trying to steady the board without tilting it to the Allies; and meanwhile trying to make some other strategies playable.

I’d be willing to sign up as the noob player, I just finished reading the rules. IF there exists a way to play online with such a ruleset then I could play online. Why would you need 4 axis players though? Isn’t this game purely zero-sum anyway? So a single axis player and a single allied player should be mostly similar to having multiple players on each team.

How about if you capture Sicily the Italian player has to toss a coin. If it’s heads the King arrests Mussolini and Italy becomes neutral.

If Germany sends units into neutral Italy (or leaves units there on a German turn after Italy becomes neutral) then Italy joins the Allies.

Maybe give the Axis one full turn to recapture Sicily before Mussolini gets the boot.

if people want to know, just look in the back of the AAE40 rule book where it distinguishes all types of units

What i do is this:

buy specific 1/72 scale Australian infantry/ chindits for Asia and 8th army 1/72 scale for Africa… Thats about it. Unless they have different values having different colors is wild.
