Most people play AAE, and give as much support to Russia as they can. They put the 12$ into Russia, and take Middle East money out of Britain or USA.
Well, when you start to play the game more often, you start to see a patern set in. The game is decided in 6 or 7 turns. No matter how much you put in, Russia cannot stop the German advance.
So, I firmly believe you are better off giving the 12$ to Britain, and taking some (if not all) of the Middle East payments out of Russia’s bank account.
What does this allow? Well, a quicker allied counter attack, destroying those Uboats quickly. A destroyer in the North Sea, or Celtic sea, or off Canada, they could all help destroy subs quicker.
12$ isn’t going to make much difference in Russia. Germany will be in Belorussia on Turn 6 easily. Moscow on turn 7. The allies must take Germany before Germany takes Moscow.
Also, bid money should go to British fleets. Try to get that Celtic fleet to survive, its out of reach of most German fighters.
Russia can stop the Germans, America and Britain must sent them fighters and the Russians must time the counterattack well. Try to lure them into Ukraine and then counterack and move to Poland.
I have never seen a Russian player who could counter this basic strategy:
Bid goes to 3 Art in Romania. Attack Romania, kill lots then pull back. Attack all three light purple provinces. In the next 3 turns (so on turn 4 your final attack force arrives in East Poland, to attack Belorussia on T5), move everything not defending Germany to East Poland. Build 2 bombers / turn for 2 turns. Strat bomb the hell out of Leningrad. Build all Infantry (after 2 bombers) until turn 3. On turn 3, build max tanks. Tanks will arrive in East Poland on turn 4. After that, build infantry and sit them down in Germany. Pull everything back (except in Holland) toward Germany thats not in East Poland. Await allied assault. Attack Belorussia on turn 5. Attack Moscow on turn 6.
If Britain decides to make mass fighters and give to Russia, it just takes 1 turn longer to prepare, and Britain will have less time to prepare to attack Germany.
some people say that its good for the allies to invade france w/ 1 tank and bombard the coast w/ 7 destroyers and kill tons of german infantry. the germans are stupid to do this; leave 1 infantry in belgium and 1 in france, and leave all the rest in eastern france, as not to be bombarded. counterattack what they put into either france or holland with as little as possible, preferably using some fighters with your infantry to pack a punch
