I’m not sure if I can pinpoint where you went wrong. I do know what I feared. I feared I’d been to greedy with Germany, stopped my production in land units in Europe for the eastern front to early and that in round five you would fly your air units in Egypt and India to Persia along with perhaps building some more fighters there.
My hope was that you would underestimate the need for fighters in Persia due to the Italian bombing run taking place after England’s turn. Since you did my other hope, that continuous builds of artillery, tanks and aircrafts in Ukraine, Novgorod and Germany would still allow Germany to overpower the allied forces in Russia in a turn or two, never had to be tested. :-)
