I need to read up on this Vichy thing. Might swap out the art for a mech in France, but should not after R1.

I’m not sure what you are talking about. You wanna edit you Italian ncm? It certainly won’t affect Anzac…
-
You wanted to keep the Germans and Italians together perhaps and your attack on Rostov was a mistake?

That is what I meant. Sorry for the confusion.
-
Sure no problem.
-
Although with your fighters gone after sz112 I think you need to retreat to avoid getting crushed by the red wave.
But perhaps I have miscalculated… -

I think I hear the fat lady singing…
Indeed.
I’ll post your result.
I needed to make a stand. Even if it was <1%, running away was no solution at all!
Rematch? Switch sides?
-
I’m trying to limit the number of games I play at a time. Makes it easier for me to remember what is going on and respond in a timely fashion. An old foe asked me for a game while ours were running and I promised to alert him when I had time for another game. If he’s not up for it at this time I’m more than happy to rematch at once as either side. :-)
-
Having a bit of a look at where I lost this game, I think it might be on I1. Miscuing with the BB but really, why not a max attack on Alexandria and a step on Transjordan? You have to respond to those moves and if you use the RAF to attack the Italian navy (because the Suez is closed), you’re ahead at 73% or so but you’ll probably only have two planes left which don’t amount to much of a defence of Egypt, and worse if you take down two inf in Transjordan.
I wasn’t prepared to sacrifice the navy in the worthwhile goal of taking Egypt. That strat bomber really scared me and it shouldn’t have scared me so much. You would have needed to consolidate Egypt rather than attempt to smash the fleet in SZ98, I think.
Then I just wasted it later trying to protect it.
-
One response to that I’ve seen are for Anzac to attack Trans-Jordan, it only succeed ~22% but when it does it is a disaster for Italy. But if that gamble fails or the Allied player isn’t feeling ballsy it will certainly put pressure on Egypt.
What puzzled me is the lack of transports built for Japan during the early rounds?
-
Sometimes I build too many and can’t use them. But I guess not building enough is an even worse problem.
-
I guess I didn’t count on losing either of the two transports I lost on the second turn. 'Twas a brain fart off Borneo and I guess a bit weak in Philippines. You were correct to roll the dice on that one.
I think I see why I didn’t buy a TT J2 - I theorised that wouldn’t have been able to afford to put troops on it. But perhaps if I saved 1IPC by downgrading an art or a mech to an inf, I would have. Bad call.
