Larry Harris=George Lucas. Great stuff, started something phenominal. Has to eff around with stuff that “aint’” necessarily broken. Not sure if Disney taking over Axis&Allies would be good or not.
Just kiddin’ Larry, George Lucas sucks….mostly.
cc, i hope you tipped well for your cocoa and merry christmas (i hope things are slow for you)
Thanks, but sadly no . . . . I have more on my plate for the three weeks before New Years than i need (average week around 60-70 hours). Also the ERs are just as busy as ever before. During the summer it was wasp bites, winter - ankle sprains on the ice. Plus the never ending attack of the dizzy/weak/unwell little old lady (the ER version of LOL).
merry CHRISTmas anyway and don’t forget to tip your barrista 8-)
Dunno what people normally tip. I heard the average tip in the United States for restaraunt service is 8-12% and for delivery is less then 1%. My personal philosiphy is $5 per hour for restaraunt service -$1 for each time my coffee cup goes dry. (That’s been $20 tips for a cup of coffee before.) And for delivery I try to tip the same as the delivery charge (about $3 or 15%.)
As for tip jars and Starbucks/Caribou Coffee are concerned, I’m not paying them to do their jobs. Next you’ll see tip jars at friggin McDonald’s!
What’s other people’s tips?
At Starschumcks? zero.
i don’t frequent espresso shops and only go out occasionally (feeding children) but as my wife used to be a waitress i generally tip 15-20%
I live on coffee. But I get the sinking feeling that caffiene effects metabolism and causes your body resistance when trying to loose weight, which might explain why the US Army has a policy against caffiene and outright forbids you to have any during combat training (even prior service.)
So i’m planning on no caffiene next year til I loose 35 pounds.

Your body is actually attuned to a small amount of caffeine. But too much can put stress on many things (heart, adrenals, etc.).
Would 12 cups of coffee in the morning, 1 Venti Mocha on the way to work, 12 cans of diet coke at work and 2 Monsters on the way home from work count as “too much” ?

OMG, Jenn, I think that qualifies you as comatose! :-o
With that load, I think your kidneys are HOPING to be sliced out as part of a Kidney Heist :-P

Uhm, isn’t comatose what you are when you are asleep and can’t be woken up? With that load, it’s hard to get to sleep. :) On the plus side, I’m always awake when my kids try to get in trouble!
I don’t know about that Caffeine policy, I have the NSN for caffeinated chewing gum somewhere. I tried to order some when I was in Iraq, but the order is probably getting there now. “Nonessential” take a while to get there.
Ya know, we didnt get to drink cofee in basic. I went from 5 cups every morning to none. Talk about Withdrawal.
Hey M36 you got any good war stories ?
@M36:

You don’t get to drink any if you are prior service in basic either…which is really flubbed up. After that, I really didn’t drink any while I was in uniform, figured I already had the habbit kicked, why get back into it.
Then I got injured and could only fight the narcotics drowsyness with caffiene.
Sadly no Imperious Leader, I have no war stories worth mentioning. :-(
:x
I could get some from the rest of my platoon if you want. Most of them have seen some action.
Then what did you do?
garrison duty?
Id like some story of a patrol that went into combat or took out a few targets.something
I have a friend who stayed in Baghdad during the Allied bombing as a human rights observer. She belonged to the same organization that later had three members kidnapped. If any of you right-wingers want to get really riled up, go check out their website at http://cpt.org - which incidentally was the first website I ever designed.
