Think of it!  You can celebrate them both by getting drunk and watching your kids go insane trying to figure out how to put together their loud, obnoxious toys!  You almost SHOULD be drunk for Christmas as a parent anyway!

Who screwed up the country the most?

    Taft
    T. Roosevelt
    F. Roosevelt
    Eisenhower
Truman - Oh my Gawd did he screw us up!  He CAUSED the cold war, almost single handedly….Stalin helped a little.
    McKinnley
    Carter
    Clinton
    W.
    Sr.
    Nixon
    Kennedy
    Johnson

That’s not set in stone in that order, but it’s pretty close.  I might flip one or two here or there.

  • What do you mean by “screwed up the country”? I think you’re dealing in highly subjective terms here, which makes any list of “Biggest Screw-Ups” rather useless.

And while I’m at it, what do you mean, Truman caused the Cold War? FDR caused the Cold War with his pandering to Stalin, and refusal to let Western forces push on into the rest of Germany and Eastern Europe at the close of the European Theater. Truman might not have helped the situation, but FDR instigated it.

Save that crap for another thread. This is about Christmas. I happen to know that it was February 30.

Yea idiots!  Christmas is the shiznet!

  • Eisenhower? My God what are you smoking Jen?

Teddy? Well he screwed other countries up, especially Spain, but wrong again!

W? Everybody knows W kicks ass, and its the dumbasses in Congress who have screwed things up.

Jesus Jen, get with the picture!

W? Everybody knows W kicks a**, and its the dumbasses in Congress who have screwed things up.

Logically incorrect, sir. I do not know this (true or not). ergo, not everybody knows this.

  • What is Doubyas solution to most problems? Send in the Marines! Doubya definatly kicks ass.

  • 2007 AAR League

I did not say that he didn’t kick ass.

I only said that I do not know that he does.

Therefore, you are incorrect when you state that "Everyone knows … "

As a parallel example, I would be incorrect if I said “Everyone knows humanity is causing global warming.” Switch does not believe (or know) this, so I would be wrong to claim that everyone did.

  • Switch has simply seen contrary evidence that blast the snot out of the hypothesis of man-made Global Warming.

Facts are an amazing thing, and the Global Warming hypothesis fails to stand up to them.

i think she is smoking look at the chart. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_United_States_Presidents most of her picks are dems that should very high on the list.  only sr., w and nixon belong pn that list all the others did a good job as leaderes. really good leaders. if kennedy lived longer he probablly would be the greatest president ever instead of just a great president.

  • Kennedy was not in office long enough to achieve jack shite.  And his Legacy was all that cap that Johnson rammed through Congress saying “John would have wanted this”.

    Great Presidents?  NIXON.

There is an old Vulcan proverb…  Only Nixon could go to China.

  • Well actually Nixon had alot of potential, and he could have been a great president, but the whole watergate thing hurt him just a tad.

no even without watergate. i still don’t like him.

Apparently you see Jennifer’s lack of skills in making lists.  I hope she doesn’t make the grocery lists too.  :-o

sorry to get everybody off topic, this was about christmas. so we should move christmas to march or april when we actually have snow. remember white christmas. i’m in detroit 10 days before christmas and it’s 50 degrees,  yae global warming doesn’t exist.

w kicks a**. are you kidding me. start a thread to list his accomplishments.  don’t leave out pushing his religion into our constitution,  or tax cuts during war time,  or sitting on his hands for 2 weeks while people were dying in new orleans.  just to list a few.

  • @ncscswitch:

Except the facts you are purporting are hypotheses as well.  :-P  It’s just a matter of what the individual believes.  And I’m with mojo that 60 degree weather in mid-December is highly unusual.  But not for the past couple of years…

Nixon was a smart guy.  That was his strength & partly his downfall.  He was too paranoid of other people, and had a god complex.  Watergate was probably the tip of the iceberg for what he did/would have done.

And about W.  I don’t really understand Jenn’s assessment.  If she is knocking Dems with her list (which it looks that way), why would W. be where she lists him if she has been insisting lately that he is actually a Dem himself?
