    I just felt too cocky in that battle (or too desperate),

    Man, Allies are just dominating on all fronts, Japan’s economy is a joke now, not sure what went wrong in the game, I have been trying hard to negate most of the new NO’s to bring it as close to OOB as possible, still this is very different experience to OOB(+bid) game. I am still enjoying the onslaught here. New china is huge actually, how naive I was thinking, like nah I simply leave 1 inf behind everywhere… did not realize how much is Japan missing that infantry on the front…

    I’d love to talk about what happened in this game any time - I do feel like it’s still a dogfight and I’m trying to turn things around.  Maybe you’re just talking about the Pacific side of the board?  Italy’s going crazy

    Italy is definitely more fun to play now, still Europe is challenged heavily, Germany is sending less and less to the east… still I am not throwing the towel yet, at least those Russians seem to retreat pretty cowardly (so far)… maybe they can’t really fight and my Italian scouts will push them all the way to Siberia.

    whoops, China somehow got out of control there… but I mean it is damn hard to play against your allies Gamer, even if the rules were balanced. Anyway, the balanced mod is fun. Nations that often have very limited options in the standard bid game (Italy, Russia, China) have here actually lot of fun. Good thing is the mod is getting played massively now, so the balance can be tweaked.

    Balance mod is several big steps in the right direction.  You’re right about opening up options.  I can’t very well contain Italy, though somehow I did it vs. kid.  Still there, kid?  :wink:

    Which… I have all 4 of them vs. kid, so yeah, apples and oranges.  Still there kid?


  • Once again I am questioning the conventional wisdom of attacking 97 UK1 in 2nd edition anyway…. I mean… having that carrier in the Indian Ocean is awesome

  • One of the things I love about Allies in this version is the USA can air strike Japan units in China and every hit makes a Chinaman pop up…. Though I don’t think I’ve even pulled that off yet.  Man, just imagine some US bombers and fighters in East Asia… havoc
