    2. Please carefully read the advice I give you. I already told you to be careful with casualty choice and not always take what tripleA sets as default.
    You need to take care about casualty choice!!!
    In that battle you kept my damaged carrier and took my fighters off first. This is unacceptable! A fighter defends at 4 the carrier at 2. I am shooting at naked German air. I would always keep a fighter!

    Please confirm that you read and understood this!

    There is 2 options now. I either claim that the roll at 2 was a roll at 4, in this case it missed anyway
    I would also have the right to reroll that dice.

    I just keep it like that now but please be more attentive towards those details.

    Point taken. carriers first, then fighters. It sounds super stupid but I was thinking that since carriers cost more to build and fighters were replaceable that carriers would be saved. I will more than happily let you reroll and take one of my air. and yes on the 39 I am in desperation mode so I am trying to stave off your formidable attacks

    The default rule for casualty choice is: Max defense.
    It required a bit of experience to realize when max defense is not taken for granted.

    Typical example where max defense does not apply was your attack at Shan state where I would save the bomber as there was no way you could win the battle.

    With carriers it sometimes depend. there are a number of situations where you would save the carrier

    1. When you still think you are gonna win the battle as defender and in this case the carrier would auto repair
    2. If damaging a carrier would mean that maybe planes crash or that a follow up attack might come and the planes would be be available as they have to land if the carrier gets damaged.

    In case of doubt, better ask :)

    You can keep that German plane, taking down 5 German planes for that fleet is still good for the Allies :)


  • AA guns are sometimes also worth saving in case of specific potential follow up attacks.

    Yep. In some cases Inf is taken off before AA because then the attacker could not retreat anymore.


  • You could do it as following strategic planner. First you propose the OOL you think is appropriate. Then JDOW confirms it or not. This might help teach you to see the true value of units in specific situations. Then again it depends on JDOW as well :P.

    This is ok as a default.

    However in the end it depends case by case. Sometimes I prefer to keep ships over air, sometimes air over ships.

    Sometimes mech is worth more than arty, sometimes the other way around. In case you feel insecure just ask.

    In some cases it is ok to choose for your opponent. For example in case you retreat, you can just choose for your opponent and invite him to change the OOL according to his convenience. this avoids delays in the game.
