    Sir, just to be sure.

    You are aware I can easily attack the transports at Alaska?
    The blocker does not prevent the planes from attacking. All I need is to somehow attack the sub.
    The rule says I just need a theoretical chance for a landing spot.
    Assuming you would have a large fleet placed in sz8 I could still just send a sub to attack the fleet as theoretically by a miracle that sub could win that battle.

    However even if I would not kill the fleet in sz8 I could still attack the transports at Alaska with a single plane.

    In case I would clear sz8 I would have to move a carrier to pick the plane up. In case I would clear sz8 from surface ships the plane attack the transports would crash.

    If this would affect your US turn, feel free to change your NCM. And also your buy, in case you believe you don’t need the harbour than anymore.

    Advice from my end. The Harbour and transports in Alaska are not a good idea anyway. You will not achieve anything from there. With your fleet being at Queensland all you provide is targets for Japan.

    Oh, you were just moving.

    Sorry I made an edit in between.
    However the German sub activites do not influence the Russians at all.

    You taking high risks in every turn, and you are getting away with it so far. For future games my advice is to be more carefull with the units, especially Russian air.

    By the way: You are aware that you could have taken Brazil during Americans Non Combat move?
    The transport at Mexico could have taken it.

    Here is the strategy session part 2: Playing the Russians

    While playing the Russians on a very high level is very difficult and underestimated by many players, playing them at least solid is quite easy.

    There is just 1 simple objective: Don’t lose Moscow
    If you make it easy for the Axis to get Moscow, the Allies lose the game, as simple as that.

    You might have seen games where the Axis lost despite taking Moscow, but those games had special circumstances:

    • Germans took unacceptable losses in order to take Moscow
    • Germans took unacceptable losses in Western Europe
    • Allies successfully got Japan so much down that America could focus 100% on Germany

    In order to accomplish to not lose Moscow, there are just 2 rules:

    1. Do not let substantial parts of the red Army get slaughtered
    2. Make sure the biggest part of the Red Army stays in range of Moscow to defend it

    You heavily breached both of those rules with your Russians.

    • You sent expensive units twice into certain death at Bessarabia
    • You sent a substantial part of the Red army to an expedition into Scandinavia, thus they out of range of Moscow

    Both attacks at Bessarabia were ill advised, you have no chance there, Germans resupplies just kill those guys en passent, Germans have superior air power to make sure that battles ending up in blood baths. instead sending so many units into certain death you had 2 other options:
    1. Not attacking Bessarabia at all
    2. Just attacking with few infantry plus solid air support, you just want to exchange units and maybe kill 3-4 Germans and only losing 2 Russians

    If you would have kept all those units you could have had a very strong army now at Bryansk making it hard for the Germans to crack.
    In addition do not send the Russian planes to chase Italian boats. You need those planes to defend and to efficiently take territories.

    So for the next time: Make it hard for the Germans to progress in Russia. Lure them deep into Russia like it happened in the real WW2. The deeper they are into Russia, the longer the German supply chain is and the shorter the Russian is.

    • Make solid buys with the Russians: Buy 10 units at least each round, better 11-12 as long as you have the money. Rather something like 7 inf, 3 art, 1 mech for the first 2 rounds
    • Only make exchange battles with air support against single Inf. Take e.g. inf+fig+tac vs single inf. Only take more units than the defender in case you really want to take the territory to block somehow
    • Keep them in range of Moscow, skip scandinavian expedictions, try to hold Bryansk as long as possible, the hold Moscow as long as possible, bring Allied air to Moscow if necessary

    Of course this is a very simple strategy which does not make you autowin, however it will just give the other powers enough time to severely harm the Axis. You need well played US and UK to get the Axis down but as I said, solid Russians are a good start to do so :)

I am good at 1942 1E - this Saturday I played Russia, bought all inf/art the whole time and pushed Germany back to eastern Europe and Italy. but I am horrendous at global so far, but my goal is to get better. that is a good strategy to hold the front and to not get blown up. I think I need to be more cautious with attacks and positioning so I don’t destroy my armies for nothing

    I btw looks like you do not take my advice seriously or did not understand what the issue was at Alaska last turn.

    Again, I can attack your destroyer and sending planes to sz26. Those planes kill the destroyer and the 5 transports and land on a carrier after that.

    I assume you did not want to send your Transports into certain death? You could send them to Johnston Island. Edit them if you like.
    That was the last time I warned you ;)

    You were aware that subs can always slip through Gibraltar regardless who owns it?
