Oh, this is great - but I’m not sure where exactly I need to save the .xml file to. Once I can open the file as you have wonderfully updated it, I will be able to fine-tune changes better. I have learned more about the game since last spring, too.

open triplea folder
open maps folder ( if you don’t see one there open your triplea 1804 folder. There will be one in there. Use the first maps folder if you can.)
open world war II global zip
open the games folder (you will find the xmls here)
put the new xml in the games folder ( I have named it Gamer1 and it will show up in your Choose maps area when you start up triplea. It will be with all the other globals)

Yea unfortunately the NO tab doesn’t show up unless you put the new name in the objectives properties. I have had mixed results doing this. However at the end of your turn it will tell you what objectives you have obtained. I’ll go ahead and add them to the game notes so you can look them up there.
I didn’t test this very extensively just the obvious scenarios so you’ll want to keep an eye out for unintended results. I took a quick look at convoys. Might be able to get a bastardized version. I can eliminate the convoy SZ’s you don’t want, but changing the max damage without effecting the territory ipc value will be tougher. I assume you just turn off the dice in game options. So you’d have to figure the convoy damage manually and edit if it takes too much.
I suppose the Flying Tigers is the only thing you really can’t edit with triplea? Although some would be messy. I’ll take a look at that and getting the mid factory going. Should be able to figure something out using kamakazies as a guide.

I like the convoy idea. Some edits for that is not bad - definitely acceptable. There were some to eliminate, I think, yes. If they have to be done manually, I think that is acceptable. It won’t be bad once we get used to playing it.
I hope you will be available when I start to play test it and want to make some more tweaks, or alternatively if you can tell me how you do some things - we can talk about this later. I am pretty comfortable with programming and computer stuff, unlike most people.
I should be around for a while yet. I never know when I’ll be going back to work.
Is most enjoyable. I think the more Global versions the better. This map can support many different scenarios. You get tired of one play another.
You know a lot more about computers then I do. Fortunately I have access to someone who is pretty knowledgeable. I’ll try and get a few more things done. Having a little trouble with the factory at the moment.

Actually I believe that’s Roger Cooper’s mod. He’s done several games over at triplea. He just finished a WWI game.

placement: may only be placed in a originally owned territory with a ipc value of 3 or higher.

Unfortunately if increased factory tech is activated it will throw a error. I would recommend saving the game before you roll for tech. If you get factory tech you will have to use it manually. Radar tech works fine.

There are some new units you will have to add to each countries folder in the units folder. It’s in with the xmls. I couldn’t figure out how to compress the units folder enough to attach so you’ll have to do it manually. I didn’t bother adding them to the neutrals or mongolians but you may want to give them to all countries for flexibility.
Looked at convoys again and you didn’t eliminate any zones so I’ll leave it alone for now.

Too dramatic a difference between 3 and 10. It’s about the starting setup too - especially India. I don’t like India having a major, but a minor is too small. Etc.
Can I add: It is also because many of us thought it was stupid that 10 units could be put on a territory, which did not start with one. Norway or Romania, for example should not be allowed to produce as many units as an industrialised nation, like Germany, England or the US. These are nations that have been industrialised for centuries.
Starting Majors should be the only ones allowed, in my opinion.

I don’t see the point in buying a major either.
That’s a new point for me, Wittman, and I agree.
However, as Soulblighter has already kind of pointed out, we probably don’t need a rule against it because it really is never a good idea anyway. Especially with the mid-complex option.
However, thinking about this now (I came up with the rule early this year), I don’t think any mid or major complexes should be allowed to be built. I would like India to be a mid-level complex instead of a major, but maybe it’s better to not introduce the mid-level complex and have India start with a minor on West India, and a minor on India.
Yes, that’s the way I want to go.
Reducing the major also gives Japan a better opportunity to SBR India, but adding the minor to West India really helps offset that too. I’m going to change the document.
