    Congrats for taking the sacrifical move with Italy! I knew the possibility, but was unsure if you would do it. I had to force you, oc. The attack came up better than average for Italy, that must have been a relieve :)
    I have a small issue because you did not ask about the AA as casualty, especially since you built the AB. I might very well have thought downing German air more important than Italian air (in a battle I would win anyway, while vs Germany it could have been close). I hope you see my point, its not being petty because you played well. I dont really know how to remedy, swapping the aa for an artillery? Complete rerolling feels bad cause it might deprive you of the good result since you rolled above average with every attack rd.

    Volgo was an unexpected one round affair :)

    One part of what I wrote is clearly rubbish as my AA would shoot at Italian air in any case. What I meant is also shooting at German air compared to having one @2 unit more shooting at Italian invaders in a battle I would win anyway, even if your goal is to do as much damage as possible and one more hit @2 could mean one less shot for you…having looked at how my 2s performed, thats a theoretical question :)  (but that is hindsight, oc).

    Thanks!  It was a tough choice to lose all those italian units.  I totally understand your issue with the AA gun.  The responsibility is mine to ask OOL and I didn’t so I am open to letting you decide what to do.  Replace the AA, re-roll the battle etc.  I just felt that asking OOL for that particular battle might tip my hand a bit (but I should of known you are to good to miss the 1-2 punch) A bit a gamesmanship on my part I guess.  I wasn’t trying to be devious I just didnt want to give out any more information than I am required to. (Hope you can understand that)  This scenario probably plays out a little differently in a face to face game. Just part of the game playing by Triple A. But after much deliberation I made the choice to attack and not ask OOL so I am prepared to suffer the consequences.  You are a worthy opponent and I know you’ll do what you think is most fair.  I will wait to hear from you before I procede with Germany.  Cheers!  Game on!

    Asking for OOL wouldnt have given away, nor could have prevented, the coming German attack :)
    But you have not been devious, not at all, and thats definitly not the direction where my argument comes from.

    I cant wait for Germany, taking Normandy is ensured now, question is how many air you want to sacrifice in order to take it. You did what I hoped you’d not do :) - hence my putting a DD in the Med and other things, to give Italy choices. Didnt work :)

    Rerolls I think is a disproportionate reaction. Also, just putting an AA back deprives you of an actual hit you made, so there is really only one solution, take away an artillery and put an AA there instead. I know that my artillery still took part in the battle that way (which it wouldnt if taken instead of AA), but to remedy that, only a complete reroll would do. I let you decide, but I am fine with just swapping.

    So lets just add an AA gun. Leave the artillery as sort of punishment for me not asking OOL and carry on with the war. I appreciate your understanding and willingness to compromise.  For your peace of mind I needed at least 6 hits from Italy to accomplish what I wanted to do.  So whether the AA was there or not would not prevent me from attempting to carry out my intended plans.  I guess what I’m saying is my German turn was already set up by Italys result so I will not deviate from what I originally intended for the Air base and Italys probe attack.
