    Btw, I think I left London pretty under-defended, realizing too late. in the setup I removed 2 inf + 1 AA from London/Scotland as I somehow thought that Germany cannot afford 9 TTs in G2 anymore, but actually it can! I also moved 2 inf to Gibraltar in UK1… so looking on the map now you would be getting 90+% on G3 London attack if you bought 9 TTs in G2. Possibly more if you bombed down London factory in G2 as well. Have you considered Sea Lion? I think in future we shall bring the setup units back to London, maybe remove only 1 but removing 3 seems a bit low now…

    also… I missed that your subs can actually reach my French DD… pretty sloppy play from me, well at least I did not lose London yet :)

    another thing: Do you know that German cruiser in SZ125 is actually not blocking lend&lease, as you need to block all 3 routes to deny Russia that money.

  • ouch, you lost a bomber in UK, nasty… the rule about not collecting income from just conquered territories is hitting Axis hard… Pacific is crazy, both ANZAC and India are similar in economy to Japan now. I mean J3/J4 DOW is known to be not good for Japanese economy in OOB already, but here it feels brutal. Japan would be simply dead without its 21 planes now.

    For next iteration I am thinking to remove 1 IPC from Guinea territories, they are not Islands per AA definition and they are already worth 5 IPC for ANZAC anyway, so no need to motivate extra fighting there by 2 IPC. And ANZAC is just a bit too rich now I would say… also in our first game it was operating in close to 30 income range.

    Also collecting 0 IPC from just conquered enemy territories is maybe too hard on Axis (given that essentially both Russia and Calcutta have now about extra 5 IPC compared to OOB)…  maybe the rule about collecting income from just conquered territories shall be modified that any side collects 1/2 from just conquered territory, if it is a friendly side it is rounded up, if it is enemy it is rounded down, so it would be something like

    territory production  owner/friend collects        enemy collects
              1 IPC                      1 IPC                              0 IPC
              2 IPC                      1 IPC                              1 IPC
              3 IPC                      2 IPC                              1 IPC
              4 IPC                      2 IPC                              2 IPC

    So for example Japan would still collect 2 IPC from just taken Java and not 0 IPC as it is now… The rule would still have an impact on Axis as there is a lot of 1 IPC territories, where the advantage for defender is the largest.

    I did not notice in the first game and probably kept excess Air and Navy in 98, thinking Grrmany could reach! Is better like this, but takes getting used to.
    Will try and do Japan, but feel like I won’t win.

    on my computer I have the map modified so I can visually see the distance is longer…. but we did not manage to get the modified map into your PC.

    we can as well restart the game, would be fine for me. I also feel that the current rules are a bit too hard on Axis. What about restarting with this set of modifications:

    1)  add back 1 AA to UK and 1 inf to Scotland so the difference to OOB is just -1 inf from Scotland (London a bit too weak against Sea Lion)
    2)  Make both Guineas back to 0 IPC (ANZAC too rich)
    3)  any side collects 1/2 from just conquered territory, if it is a friendly side it is rounded up, if it is enemy it is rounded down (AXIS economy felt too weak)

    Any other suggestions? As per 21 Japanese planes, I still like them, in my view Axis are supposed to be strong militarily and Allies economically… Axis shall roll over for first but there shall be a pressure on them to act fast, otherwise Allied economy will overproduce them… in OOB, very fast Axis economy reaches that of Allies and then there is not really much Allies can do from that point

    you could take either side in the new game, your choice


  • I would also make India, W India and Kwangtung back to their OOB IPC values. As we play now India has extra 6 IPC/turn (+1 form W India, India, Ceylon, Fiji, Samoa, Gilbert)… that is 2 inf per turn… so if Japan would like to attack India around turn 5-6 or so that is extra 10-12 inf in India by then what is quite a difference… Extra 4 IPC/turn so about 1 inf/turn shall maybe be better so India actually is attackable…
