No wonder he said it would be fun. Must have been drooling over Z35.
The Allies can not possibly keep Japan from getting and holding 6 VC’s, and it will be soon. Even taking advantage of a significant calculation blunder will not change that.
I still think it’s a cheap tactic. I could have easily blocked any attack on 35 with 3 destroyers. Now I want to move 2 subs and 2 fighters there and you won’t let me.
The classy move would be to resign now.

If I had denied the late move to Alaska, the entire USA fleet would have been sunk early in the game with less Japanese losses and we never would have made it to round 15 or 20. So I am really surprised that you’re wanting to deny this, especially when there is very little doubt of the outcome of the game and it’s gone on so long

Forget it, it’s fine. Don’t allow the edit. It’s a pretty risky attack and you won’t have overwhelming force on India. If you truly had all your attacks ready already and that included all in on Z35, then go right ahead. I wish I had never asked for the edit.

It’s all good. Take your best shot. I didn’t need to react because an attack on 35 may not even lengthen the game, it could even shorten it.

My options as US are straight forward - so attacks on each of your navies was naturally someting I looked at first and therefore it took me less than 5 min to see that PHI sz was weakly defended and that I would have close to 100% chance to take it - even against max scramble.
That was also the reason for my comment “I have not decided what US will purchase, but I have my attacks ready! This will be fun!”
After you read my comment you decided to change your moves. As can be seen above I mentioned that I had attacks ready (actually not exactly ready because I also need to consider what to do next round (including my purchase this round) and therefore if I wanted to attack with everything or only strafe your PHI sz) and it would be fun.
My guess is that my comment made you take another look at the map - which you likely not would have taken else…This is the reason why I asked you to reconsidered if you wanted to change your moves.
From your numerous comments I can understand that you think it is unjust if you are not allowed to edit your moves. I certainly do not want this innocent game to cause an actual WW - I much prefer that you change your moves :-D
Please resend your final map from Japan Round 27 so that we can continue our great game…

I think you’re letting me make the edit to make sure I’m not upset? You don’t need to. You can go with my original map where Phillippines is weakly defended.
Anyway, I assure you that your comment about looking forward to the USA move had absolutely nothing to do with my edit request. I’m going to check and see if you have access to the correct map……

You can use either one you want, and you’ll never hear me complain about it. After all, if you allow the edit, there is no sub in 33 and 2 less fighters near Japan and for all I know you might prefer that.I’ll check in whenever I can to give you decisions, but I’m going to be away from the computer most of the rest of the day.
If you attack Z35 and do not attempt an amphibious assault on the Philippines, then I will scramble the 3 planes and kamikaze 2 at the battleship, 2 at each destroyer, total of 6.However, I know now that you were concerned about me changing my move based on what you had said (I would never do that) and I assure you that that was not the case, so perhaps you grant the edit - your call
I do think attacking 35 without the edit has its perils. You won’t have overwhelming odds on India and you will be letting all other subs and destroyers live, and likely won’t be able to repair any carriers. Once you damage any of the last 3 carriers, you’re losing planes too. So don’t just go by the Triple A calc odds - they’re misleading here.

It IS a great game, you ARE a great opponent, not only in skills but in sportsmanship, and this is a match to be remembered for quite some time :mrgreen:
