Its almost as if the Axis bombers were never even here to begin with! lol
I have to admit, given the amount of time it took to start this game initially, when you needed to study the rules, and the time it took between savegame exchanges during round 1 etc, I just figured you were were pretty new to the game. But I see now that you’ve clearly played plenty of A&A before, (noticed that you have concurrent G40 matches going on), so I guess it was just the 1942.2 board specifically that you were unfamiliar with?
The Axis will regret not being more conservative at the start haha. Serves me right. I suspect we may well lose this one on 10 VC win conditions, since I’ve been playing rather hard and fast. I imagine you’ll do fine going ahead in the Tournament after you knock me off, though we’re not done quite yet.

Anyhow fun stuff. Nice fighter wall with the UK man! I had to dance back to the south with the IJN for fear of getting smoked by British air power haha. With all those Russians are on the prowl, we’ll have to be careful.

Greeting from China. First 1942.2 game of my entire life. That’s true. I wasn’t going to try if not for the tournament. But I decided to give it a go last min. I’ve played plenty of previous versions though. G40 being my favorite so far. Still too early to say the winner. I almost lost it because of Caucasus in this turn. Anything could happen in dice game. I feel extremely lucky so far in terms of killing the bombers. If you still have 3 more bomber, it will be a different story.

It’s an interesting, perhaps somewhat sad commentary on the OOB balance and Victory conditions when Axis can lose 60 ipcs in bomber TUV in the first 4 rounds, and still feel like they could maybe pull something out hehe. If the Allies sustained similar loses they’d be toast for sure, but Axis have the oppertunity to take risks, fail miserably, and still recover.
I moved my main stack to Belo for the time being, the potential for American armor to run amuck on the eastern front with can openers, encouraged me to a more defensible position.
Bought another bomber.

Yup, good move. You are obsessed with bombers, ain’t you? lol They can really cripple russian’s economy if not terribly unlucky.
Haha yeah a little bomber crazy. I typically purchase 1 per round until I have 4-6 total, to help in the endgame. I find they’re really useful with G, more to prevent the Allies from splitting their fleets up too much. They’re better at fleet hunting than for SBR. They keep dieing on me, so I’m not sure whether I’ll risk many more bombing runs lol

I’ll be interested to see what the US does with that huge pile of cash they acquired last round. The furious fighting around Anhwei has definitely been keeping the Japanese on their toes!
