  • OK, I (or anyone else) would not have been happy if your subs hit after taking off my destroyer without asking.  The subs’ surprise strike capability is a big factor.  If your subs had all hit the second round, several ships would be sunk without being able to fire back and that would have been terrible.

    Most players would have lost the cruiser after that first round and kept the destroyer.

    Sorry your luck was poor there and you could have sunk my whole fleet because I apparently forgot that France (Z92) goes AFTER Italy or something, but it was not to be…  At least you don’t have an argument with me now.

    Moral of the story - wait for casualty choices from your opponent in situations like this, or else give him the best possible scenario.  Taking my destroyer off first could have been disastrous, and if you rolled a bunch of 1’s and 2’s after that and sunk my fleet, while the dice would be lucky for you, your opponent would be protesting very strongly.

    So an FYI for the future  :-)

    OK, I (or anyone else) would not have been happy if your subs hit after taking off my destroyer without asking.  The subs’ surprise strike capability is a big factor.  If your subs had all hit the second round, several ships would be sunk without being able to fire back and that would have been terrible.

    Most players would have lost the cruiser after that first round and kept the destroyer.

    Sorry your luck was poor there and you could have sunk my whole fleet because I apparently forgot that France (Z92) goes AFTER Italy or something, but it was not to be…  At least you don’t have an argument with me now.

    Moral of the story - wait for casualty choices from your opponent in situations like this, or else give him the best possible scenario.  Taking my destroyer off first could have been disastrous, and if you rolled a bunch of 1’s and 2’s after that and sunk my fleet, while the dice would be lucky for you, your opponent would be protesting very strongly.

    So an FYI for the future  :-)
