That’s mostly because I thought we were one turn later in the progression than we were when I said that. Wooooops.
No, Russia looks fine for Germany. Buy bombers on your next turn to protect the sea as well as to kill Moscow, and don’t do anything silly like splitting up your troops, and you have great odds on taking Moscow. If you don’t want to risk it, even if it’s slightly in your favor, there’s always the option of swinging south, and Britain is not in a position to do much to stop you.
All that is assuming the dice don’t screw you, mind you.

Well tes - not sure what you had in mind?
Perhaps if I had been able to bomb Moscow out of production and take out the inf in Bryansk I might have had a chance of 75% attacking odds, but my stack w/out fighters next to Moscow was very vulnerable, plus bombers cannot do Moscow, as cannot land.
Still think G is on top, but it’ll take a little longer.

I was terrified that you were going to have Italy take Bryansk, and then move your fast Germans down into Rostov. From there, you threaten UK’s burgeoning production base, and are in range to easily take Volgograd/Cacauses on the next turn, for a massive German economy increase. I was scared enough to place six easily-killed russians in Bryansk to stop you, and had even considered seven.
What you could have still done, but didn’t, is combat move your Italian tanks from Eastern Poland to Smolensk. This would have allowed your planes to land on your main stack on Germany’s turn. Instead, your Italian tanks simply stayed there, and didn’t move at all.
If they had moved forward, you’d have not only your plane stack, but also those two Italian tanks throwing defense dice. You would have been 100% fine against anything Russia could throw at you. This is standard stuff for an Italy can-opener. Italy goes first, builds the airstrips, and the Germans come in. Every turn. Until you win.
Do you want to ret-con this into the game? Not doing so costs your Axis side an entire round of progress.

Very kind of you to offer a “ret-con” - does that mean a retrospective correction?
Not for my sake tes - I should live with my mistakes and if I do manage to win this game I’d like to think I did so under my own steam. But if it keeps the game interesting for you then yes of course.
One of my major weaknesses is playing the powers individually. I have can opened a few times in different games, but need to overcome my first thought always being for Italy to defend Italy, leaving few units to go east.

If it wasn’t just as simple as picking up your two Italian (or even just one) and moving them over, then maybe I’d be petty about it. But it is. It was a super simple move, and I think the lesson has already been burned into your brain :p
No sense in giving up this opportunity and our hard work of playing one another because of one minor mistake that didn’t even involve rolling dice. Feel free to edit the correction in, sir. I don’t mind one bit.
