Yes sir, the sub submerge would have been the choice there. I will sometimes not do that, however, depending on the situation, so if it’s a very important fight or is kinda close maybe wait and ask me. But yeah, for this time, definitely submerge.

Your stack would have also been safe this turn if you only had 3 tanks. There’s not a lot of Russians there on R2–only two artillery. I usually don’t move my artillery piece up north like you did, so that would have also helped a bit. Russia could have attacked and hoped for good dice, sure, but the odds would have been under 30%, and a failure would mean the immediate end of Russia. The stack was further safe because the Russian planes were busy elsewhere, so wouldn’t have taken part. Speaking of which…

I am very sorry for what happened in the Baltic. A damaged battleship, cruiser, and transport all alone in those cold waters. A lot of brave kriegsmarine sailors died this day.

On the first round of combat, the submarine got its sneak attack. Between losing the cruiser and battleship, I chose the cruiser loss for you as it’s the most beneficial choice in every context. Still, I feel obligated to alert you when I make choices on your behalf, even if they are mathematically-provable best solutions to every scenario :p

At any rate, careful with the european axis fleet. It can do a lot of damage on the offense due to planes helping, but the planes can’t stick around to defend  what’s left without an air base or a carrier.

I just noticed that you did not move your sub-saharan african Italian units on I1.

If you would like to ret-con this, I am all for it. It’s a potential +2 more IPCs (the French destroyer was there to convoy Taganyika/Kenya at the time) depending on where you might want to move them.

If this was intentional, please excuse my pretentiousness.

  • 15

And apparently there is a new version of TripleA out. Let me know if you upgrade, and I will as well, just in case. This is my only current game, so it doesn’t really matter to me either way.

    Hey tes

You should have a PM about my ribs and have just reached the end of my ability to sit here, so no turn from me yet.

I thought I did move those Italian units. Will check when I next go in. Either way, thanks for looking out for me.

I did your odds on the G stack including R air and thought it closer than that. wittman just took India from me on a 0% attack in a 1942.2 tournament so am feeling raw!

Thanks for the Baltic fleet pointers. Certainly the cruiser rather than the BB.

    Sorry for the rushed post!

  • 15

No problem, take your time. Cracked ribs suck. Nothing to do but wait for them to stop hurting.

If I might make a suggestion, sit on something much lower to the ground than normal, so you are keeping yourself looking a bit up, with your arms a bit raised (but still able to rest on the table/desk). Maybe also set your computer monitor/keyboard or laptop or whatever on a big book or two. It depends which ribs you cracked on whether or not this will hurt any more than normal.

This keeps you from being hunched over a computer, compacting the front of your body cavity and expanding the back. Best to keep both fairly straight.

Also, depending on which ones you messed up, and I know this sounds weird, but shorter, shallower breaths that you take from the bottom of your lungs will hurt a lot less than big deep ones. Try to think of breathing while keeping your shoulders completely still, and moving your belly in and out when breathing.

Maybe I somehow was looking at the game history the last time I was looking at Africa. We’ll see when you do your Japanese turn.

Thanks for all the medical advice. Are you a medical practitioner?

Did this go using 1807 without any issues. Did have problems downloading the s/w though, due to my own stupidity I think! Have posted on the s/w board.

I am sure you will have lots to say on my Japan go!

  • 25 24 23 22 21 20 19 18 17 16

BTW - I had done Italy in E Africa - Thanks

  • 15

I am not a medical practitioner, no, but I have done many a dumbass thing that has lead to bruised ribs, and have had hobbies where breathing exercises were mandatory.

Looking forward to digging through the last round. I don’t understand your comment on Italy, but It’ll probably be clear when I see it in the game history.

I don’t have much to say about Japan other than that you’re being very conservative, and if I had to guess, are planning to send a lot of Japanese people into Russia from the backside. If that’s not the plan, then I am confused. I say this because you have bought a lot of land units and no facilities for your planes/fleet.

The hit on the chinese stack pretty much ended any chance they had of being dangerous for you, but it cost you five planes to do it. I don’t know if that was worth it.

And yeah, I see what happened in Africa. Taking away that 5 IPC NO from UK Atlantic, damn you!

Now we need scrambles off of Italy into 97, again! The british are hellbent on making sure there are no italian boats left.

    UK:
    2x DD
    1x CR
    2x FT
    1x Tac
    1x Strat

    ITA:
    1x TT
    1x DD
    1x CR
and a potential 3 fighter scrambles

  • 25 24 23 22 21 20 19 18 17 16

Mmm! Tough call. But let’s show those Brits what we are made of and scramble everything. That’ll teach them! Grrr!

  • 15

    That’s exactly what I didn’t want to see :|

  • 15

Britain scores 3 out of 7 hits with 1x DD and 2x tac/strat bombers. (and you should be getting the dice emails?).

You have 5 units: 1 DD, 1 CR, 3 Fighter.

    Losses?

  • 15

Also worth noting to remember: There is an Italian TT in the sea zone as well.
