Took a risk with the Italians, which went okay. If Germany’s 2 bombers were in Leningrad I might have a possibility of knocking you out again next go, but they have been defending Germany’s stack for a turn or two longer than they needed to.

Eh? Do you mean the Italians bombing Holland?
To minimise the German resources not sent to the eastern front while I struggle with the Allies’ coastal incursions. Especially given the likely distraction of air power.
It was a risk I know. But it feels as if G’s next turn or two may decide the game and I could not see a better way for Italy to help them.
G has had some terrible luck bombing Moscow - I think it is 4 bombers lost in 3 raids!
And the chances of failing to retake Normandy were pretty damn low.
BTW - I am off to Mark’s shortly for our day of Global40 - although we might be doing Anniversary or something instead.

I think you will get India, but believe I am too far ahead in TUV to beat me in this game.
I would have preferred taking Normandy with US , but could not risk failing to take it. Have more Air and Bombardments with the U.K.
US having the IC would have hurt you more. -

We actually played Anniversary map and set up (1941 variant) with 1942.2 rules. It was interesting to have the different challenges and opportunities. Our next date is in March, so we might start a 40G then. Or he has “Epic - Space Marines” (?) which can be played in a day ….

It’s about all I can see J doing. Australia seems too difficult at this stage. Hence the Malaya IC build.
I seem to be getting to grips with playing J - dominating China and grabbing and then holding on to the money islands - but building beyond that base seems difficult. Leaving the game in the hands of Germany vs Russia.

Quite. Might the outcome have been different if I had reached Moscow a turn earlier? Or if those SBRs had not fared so badly? Or I had taken a fighter as a casualty and recaptured Normandy/Bordeaux?
That’s twice in this game that I have allowed my desire to retain expensive air units to cause me difficulty. Another lesson learned!
Otherwise, what should the Axis be doing to reduce Allied ipcs that I have missed?
Anyway - I have not given up yet!

Yes - I saw that as soon as I had completed G’s go. Another mistake to add to my German catalogue!
I would have had an 18% chance on Moscow last turn. Poor, but perhaps I should have taken it!
I did feel in control as J, which was a step forward on all my other games. Of course your kind edit of a DD off FIC allowed that. :-)
I also made a better fist of Italian can-openers than previously, despite failing to take Smolensk one turn.
