Re the scramble - cannot see the map or check the rules - but if it’s your 5 fighters vs my 3 scrambled plus 2 DD then yes, providing a scrambled fighter scores 4 in defence.

You defend at 4, but I also have my two naval units: the DD and the CR. Again, really annoyed that I moved my AC to Hawaii. Could have thrown 2 more Fts at your main fleet.
Is 6x3 and a 2 vs 2,2 4,4 and 4.
