Only AAA vs only planes

Hi,

I just started playing and after a slow start everything is going smoothly.
This game is awesome!

Anyway me and my friends came to some sort of weird situation.
What happens when a plane, lets say a fighter, attacks a territory with only AAA.
Does the AAA get to fire or is it destroyed?
The rulebook states “If a territory containing AAA units and no combat units is attacked,
the AAA units are automatically destroyed.  AAA units may never attack.”

Anybody got ideas on this?

The AAA get to fire at the planes first. If even a single plane survives, all the AAA die immediately.
