At the moment the only two games I dont have in my collection are AA WWI and AA 1942 second edition. I am thinking about getting one of them but dont know which one to get :? Im thinking I should get WWI as I have the first edition of 1942
Any thoughts would be great

I really enjoy them both. If you’re only going to get one I would recommend 1914 simply because it plays very differently from the WWII games. Different unit types, different movement and combat rules. If you do, though, you’ll need to go to HBG and get some extra pieces. At a minimum you’ll need more infantry for UK and Germany, and some more chips. Please let us know what you decide!
Edit: One caveat. In terms of what’s in the box, A&A 1914 is an inferior product to 1942.2. The board is split in the worst possible place, all the sculpts except infantry are the same for every power, and the pieces just seem more cheaply made than in other games. And there aren’t enough of them. But I love the rule set and the WWI setting. Just something to consider.
I agree, not enough pieces in 1914 and bad spot to split the board but I highly recommend it still because it is so different from every other axis and allies game, so if you’re only going to get 1 get 1914.
What extra pieces should we buy so that the game becomes playable? German and British inf and chips?
Yes. I would also get 3 US and 3 UK Transports.
How many infantry should I get?
10 seem too many to me, but see if anyone else answers. I would suggest 6 or 8, I suppose.
Oh darn, HBG is out of German inf.
