2015 NHL Playoffs

I like the OT turn around concept, that would be awesome.
Imagine if the Jets lit it up and Anaheim just runs out of gas. Be a hell of a game 6 in Winnipeg!
I would find some way on God’s green earth to watch that game.

I must be killing it in the pool, need those results LHOFF… my boys are on fire.

You must be talking about Tuesday night’s games… you are getting the updates and attachments correct?
-
The Canucks are showing off! have to win 3 of the next 3 games!
We’ll show you how it’s done!

Sorry, just found it in my junk mail… not doing as well as I thought I would be, but Tuesday was a good night, so I’ll have to wait for the next one to see if I moved up.

No problem. Have you been getting all the other emails too? Next update will be out shortly.
And as of today you are doing pretty darn well. 7th place (which is actually 5th place) is way better than me and Joel who are down in 36th and 37th, respectively.
General Veers is playing this year too. He is showing decently at 24th place as of today.
-
Ya, I see everything now… thanks.
Wow! 5th eh?.. that’s a big jump from the last update, that must mean that very few poolies took Wideman, Hudler, Kieth or Saad. I feel for anyone who took Crawford, because I don’t think Darling is losing his job anytime soon.
-
I was in 12th a few days ago though! Was upset my wild card forward Derek Stepan (homer pick of course) whiffed on a few chances Monday night. Problem is I might get sunk when I lose my Nashville and Tampa Bay players (serves me right since I generally dislike expansion teams, especially Southern ones -nothing personal, but we both know college football rules south of the Mason-Dixon line).

Not many took Calgary players, no. Or Brandon Saad.
That would be me who took Crawford. He legitimately seemed like the safest bet for winning some games and moving to the second round. What happened to him this year has never happened in the playoffs before. He deserved to be benched and Darling has been awesome. My team is shaping up into a disaster. And so tragically early at that.

Spots change around quite a bit in the first round. The key is how many guys you can keep into the second round and beyond.
Tampa is definitely not out of their series. I can still see it going either way. I was shocked that Detroit was able to pitch a shutout.
Nashville may have just had their back broken with double and triple OT losses. Plus not having Weber is a big deal.
College Football may rule ticket sales in the South, but Ohio State rules the field.

You’re right about how much it flip flops around during the first round… I would have all my players playing one night and than none on the next night. It should stabalize more in the second round with fewer gap leaps or falls, and we usually see someone start to break away from the pack.
GV: I also took a homer wild card pick with Brendan Gallagher, I hope he can get his first point tonight.

I was struggling a bit on which 2 of the 3 to include in the boxes out of Galchenyuk, Gallagher and Desharnais. They are all virtually identical in terms of reg season points. Ended up picking Galchenyuk and Desharnais based on better special teams point totals. So far they have been the right choices, but Gallagher is a great Wildcard pick if the Habs advance.

Ahhh crap.

Last night’s game in Detroit was a good one. At least for the first 54 minutes or so.
Got to see my first playoff overtime in person though, so that was nice. Just not the ending. The Red Wings just sort of broke down and let Tyler Johnson have way too much space to do what he wanted, in all three instances.
-
I love how the nucks manage to keep it so tight. It’s an art form…
Letting things slide to a 3-1 series, and then winning the do or die game by just 1 goal. It’s amazing!

Did you toss an octapus?… there were so many (lol).

Ha! You saw all that? Yeah there were like 5 or 6. Way more than I have ever seen before. Some moron threw one immediately after the initial puck drop. I was surprised that they did not start giving Detroit delay of game penalties for it.
But no, I did not throw any. My wife and I were trying to imagine how you smuggle them in to the arena. In your shorts? Maybe the people at the door sort of look the other way…

If they come back and win the series you will be hailed as a guru. They meant to do it all along.
But seriously though, this has to be extremely stressful for Canuck fans.

Not gonna say too much about the nuks until the I see how the Habs fair in their series, however, my Calgary players got me a total of 8 pool points tonight, and Miller continues his legacy of losing big pressure games. Just need Chicago, Montreal, and Washington to go through in order to shoot to the top.
